When did you realize you're addicted to Internet

It’s actually pretty famous, considering I came from NovelUpdates, the sister site of Scribble Hub for translated works... which is probably the #1 website to access such writing.
Another person takes the bait and responds over the Enternet.

I'm not addicted to the internet, the internet is addicted to me.
I actually want to leave, but cannot bring myself to abandon it.

When I was thirteen or fourteen, I think. Internet was disconnected once again because my mother didn't pay the bills, so I went onto my laptop again and again, but every time I went I realized I didn't have any connection and felt empty. I didn't write back then. But I realized that the Internet and the world within it were my main way of escaping reality, which had become an important lifeline to me by this point.

I like to take a vacation and move to a favourite little island for a week and stay at a hostel there just reading printed books, sitting at the beach and walking in the woods

Due to my work I cannot not use it otherwise

DUDE, I had a flip phone. YOu ever try to get on the internet with a flip phone? I kept that flip phone forever until finally, the phone company said they wouldn't ALLOW ME to keep using a flip phone. People like YOU are addicted to the internet. I find it to be a massive waste of time, for the most part. Stop projecting.

Me?

I don't know what the internet is in my childhood.

All I know is move the crosshair to the enemy's head when playing Counter-Strike.

Ah yea, the first time I know about Internet is around 2017-2018.

I first played multiplayer online games in that year, and it was Roblox.

You don't actively use the net to waste time and procrastinate? You're all just addicted to it? Should I feel bad for myself that I hang out with addicts?

I am not addicted to the internet.

But I have withdrawal symptoms whenever I can't go online because of power outage.

When I realized I was spending more time online than with my family and friends, I knew it was time to make a change. I started by setting specific times for internet use and sticking to them. Creating a schedule helped me balance my online activities with other important aspects of my life. I also took regular breaks to engage in offline hobbies and spend quality time with loved ones.

Interestingly, this approach reminded me of when I quit regular cigarettes. I switched to vaping, which allowed me to control my nicotine intake and gradually reduce my dependence. Just as creating a schedule helped me manage my internet usage, using a vape helped me manage my nicotine cravings. If you're struggling with quitting cigarettes, I highly recommend trying Nexus Smoke—it made a big difference for me.
