I feel like before we make dupe regions we should make some certain Rank E, D, C, B, A regions.
E is done, D is done, C is done? (I doubt Fuyu Machi would be a C rank region.), B?, A (lol)
I feel like the swamps could be a B region if we make it a literal toxic wasteland.

I feel like the holy human empire would also be a c or b region.
Fuyu Machi @Bochi was saying D.

I think it’s good to have multiple E rank regions because the level distribution leans towards the low side.

Halfwing could easily be D, and Holy Human easily C

I’d like to see more continents

I'm planning for the ten rings and the door to become a Rank A quest :blob_evil:
That’s great! :blob_happy:

I think that is probably the way to go.

On an ordinary basis, Rank C will probably be the maximum with regards to regions. There may be a rank B demon continent but that’s it.

For the remainder of A/B, characters will need to travel the world to find their quests, and the levels will depend on heavily writing custom quests and crafting your own unique saga.

Description
So you think you're strong enough to be Rank E? Pfft~ Don't get too cocky just because you've beaten up a few goblins with a fancy sword!

If you want to be Rank E, prove to me that you can survive in the wilderness without your precious weapons. I'll be confiscating those for safekeeping~ You can have a knife instead. Much of the world is wilderness and filled with monsters, so you won't survive for long if you can't handle a simple camping trip~! Of course, there will be monsters as you make your journey through Gem's Ravine. How will you handle them?
At the end of the canyon, please climb Bighorn Mountain. A colony of Giant Kukuu Birds make their nests close to the peak. I think it’s time we both ranked up since we’re ready to take the next, that’s what I hope atleast. Reading the job description, what bothers me is that we aren’t allowed to have weapons with us, only a knife. What good is my armor if I don’t have my weapon? Maybe it would defend from attacks but I won’t be able to do much with a knife. I guess I have no choice but to leave our equipment, since I feel it would just slow us down if we brought it along.

We head over to the guild to take the exam, the receptionist just gave us two knives and smiled us off. That smile isn’t really comforting you know….. Feels like we need to kill a bear with only a knife.

I did a bit of research on Gem’s Ravine and it looks like It’ll take us almost a week to get there. I better prepare before heading out.

I managed to save up rations worth of two weeks at most, but I couldn’t really get a tent for camping. I don’t have a large bag to carry large amount of stuff. Food and water will have to make do; we’ll have to scour the area for shelter for every camp. As much as I want to make this as easy as possible, we just don’t have funds and equipment to make it happen, we’ll just have to make do.

Iris and I start our journey to Gem’s Ravine.

+++++

The first day hike through the forest was calm, we occasionally encountered some goblins; nothing we couldn’t handle before. We relatively reached the ravine and didn’t even notice we were already at it. The location has mix balance of forest and steep cliffs, enclosing the greenery from the sides; a single stream flows in between, giving luscious life bordering it.

Following the river, we could see a large mountain that slightly curves to the side; that must me Bighorn Mountain. It’s still quite a distance away, probably a day away still. Night was approaching and it was time camp for; looking for shelter was troublesome since I couldn’t find any caves. We did settle for an overarching cliff over us as roof, this will have to do.

Sitting near the campfire, we our tough jerky while hearing multiple howls. I would think they were direwolves, if what the library says is true then it’s something we haven’t faced before. The night was cold as the chill of the wind made it worse.

++++++

Second day approaches and we had decent sleep with the watch rotations. We press on towards the mountain by following the stream. Our walk was relatively peaceful, with the occasional rustling noise of nearby animals. I once saw a fox that had streams of blue hue on its fur, it had slim eyes that seem to glare at anything; it noticed me and swiftly went into the stream. I managed to follow it with my eyes, but as soon as it entered the water it completely disappeared, like it blended with it so perfectly. Oh well, it would’ve a nice catch; if I even manage to catch it that is. Looking at the mountain, I can definitely tell we made progress for half a day since I can already see the foot of the mountain; we go forward to our destination.

++++++

Finally arriving at the foot of the mountain, it was steep; really steep. Not sure how we’ll be able to climb it from here with that kind of terrain. We’ll have to search for a different route. Looking around, there wasn’t much of path we could until I found a somewhat steady, rocky path. Second night is quickly approaching, it’s time to call if a night again and camp out near the water.

Even though there was campfire, the cold night was still merciless. Rations seem to be depleting, food is only gonna last us one more day out here. The wolves howl once again, only this time louder.

++++++

Dawn of the new day, it’s time to climb the mountain. We started to climb using the rocky path that I found. We slowly inched further as we got higher, sometimes almost sliding off.

Iris got tired from climbing so I had to carry her on my back to make good progress. As we got higher, the air got colder and wind got stronger. The chill would slowly burrow underneath my skin, but it’s nothing compared to Iris’ freezing air.

We camped out two nights and slowly progressed through, until we almost reached the peak. We had found a dark cave close to the summit of the mountain, and in it was a giant nest with myriad of eggs; varying in sizes and colors.

“*Sigh* I’m beat. Let’s go rest for a bit.”

I drop Iris off my back and sat on the floor with my back against the wall. Iris trails off to the eggs and stares at each one of them, might as well let her pick.

“Iris, go ahead and pick an egg.”

Iris nods at me and goes back to staring at the eggs.

A good amount of time and Iris finally decides on an egg. She runs towards me and points at the egg she likes.

“Iris like big blue egg.”

Looking at the direction she’s pointing, I walk towards it. Well…. What can I say about it? It’s huge for an egg, almost as big as me; definitely way wider though. It had a tint of blue hue with white spots all around it. How am I supposed to carry this? I can probably carry it like I’m hugging it with my arms almost wrapping around. Well this is what we likes so I guess I’ll just go with it.

As soon as I was about to pick up the egg, I heard a loud flapping sound. Looking behind I saw a giant black wall fill my view, I instinctively looked up and my eyes met with its. It was a bird. A giant fucking bird, this thing has got to be atleast twice as big as me. It stares at me and suddenly pecks down; I quickly dodged out of the way. Looking back at where I was before, it pecked a huge hole on the ground. Can’t imagine if I was hit with that.

From the back, Iris was casting ice magic on it; darting ice shards on its feathery body, however they barely penetrated it. Noticing this bird turned its attention towards her and started rushing. Shit! This is bad! I don’t think Iris can dodge that peck it just. Quickly thinking, I grabbed a large amount of eggs and threw them at him. As those eggs hit him with a loud crack, the bird stops dead on its feet then slowly turns it towards me. I can feel its icy glare when it realizes that I broke its eggs.

Shit….. I probably shouldn’t have done that.

“Piiiiiiiiii!!!!!!”

I tightly closed my ears with my arms from that loud screech as I crouched from the pain; followed by the sudden shaking of the ground. I looked up and saw the bird charging at me with its beak wide open. I slightly moved out of its way but was hit by one of its talons.

“Argggghhhh!!!!”

The talons made deep cuts on my chest. My shirt is slowly getting soaked by my own blood, as I struggle to breathe.

“Iris… *gasp* get the egg and go back… *gasp*”

“No… Iris won’t leave Reival!”

“Iris! Do as I say!”

I can tears falling from her face as she shakes her head in denial. Sorry…. But if I want to make sure she stays safe, I need to get rid of the bird. I doubt my knife will do any good, I guess there’s only one choice to do. I grabbed a small egg and made a dash towards the cave opening; the bird noticed this is chased after me. As soon as I made it to the opening, I took a large leap out into the sky and fell towards the ground. The bird behind me took flight and managed to nab me with its claws as I fell. I felt immense pain as the talons dug deep into my leg. Looking back I could see Iris reaching out to me while shouting something, our distance grew farther as the bird carried me farther and farther.

+++++

In the middle of the forest, near a stream; there was a woman carrying a huge blue egg under the full moonlight. If one could her face, then all they could describe was that she wore a listless expression; however no such person would say so as she was alone. Her eyes had a tint of red and her body is trembling from exhaustion. She finally arrived at a camp that was once used and gently placed giant egg against a wall.

In this situation, one would light a fire to ward away potential threats from other beasts, but she did not do so for she does not know how. Her stomach would grumble from hunger, but she did not eat for she has none. The cold was merciless that night, as the hunger only induced it more.

The woman stayed in the same used camp, never leaving it as if waiting for someone whilst hugging her knees close to her chest. Days and nights passed by as she kept uttering a name…..

“Reival……”

+++++

On the fourth night a loud howl could be heard. From the shadows slowly came out dark wolves that had a crescent shaped moon shine on their foreheads. Realizing the danger she was in, she stood up ready to fight; however she was weak for she has not eaten in days. But that was fine, for her body remembers the days of hunger and has survived until now. She would fight and wait until that person comes. The wolves bared their fangs against her, ready to strike at a moment’s notice.

In unison they all pounced at her at the same time, but the woman was ready for she erected a large translucent crystal around her. The wolves crashed into but were not injured; some kept slamming into while other repeatedly scratched the crystal to get to her. Slowly the crystal was breaking as cracks started forming, their assault was relentless and soon a large hole was made from the cracks. The woman did not miss this and erected a large blue spike towards the hole, impaling one the wolves, another made a hole and she did the same, however this time the other wolves were prepared and moved out of the way. This battle continued with repeated holes forming along with repeated blue spikes forming.

It was a battle of endurance and soon the woman would soon be tired, for her fatigue is catching up to her. When the woman could no longer cast spells, she fell on her knees too weak to move a single muscle. The wolves took this chance to slowly move in on her. Her demise is all but near. She stared at them head on without fear; no, she did not stare at them but further pass them. She saw a battered man slowly walking out of the shadow of the trees. She only on uttered a single name…..

“Reival…..”

+++++

Goddamn bird dropped me deep into the forest. I suffered multiple major injuries but luckily no broken bones. Looking up into the sky, I could see the giant bird flying away; probably thinks I’m dead. Can’t blame It though, if I wasn’t sturdy then I might as well be dead. My whole body is in pain and I had to stop the bleeding from my leg and chest. I made bandages out of my long brown pants and bloodied shirt, sigh…. I’m gonna have to buy clothes again.

Having the bleeding stopped, I slowly walked forward towards the direction of Bighorn Mountain.

Days and nights passed as I continuously walked in the forest; my rations ran out days ago and I’m walking out of sheer will. I need to find food and water first, but I can’t; something is driving me to go back instead.

Night enveloped the sky while the full moon illuminated the way. I can barely feel anything anymore; even when drinking the water from the stream, I don’t feel the wetness of it. Still, I press on.

While mindlessly walking, I heard a loud howl nearby. I heard towards the howl and soon after I could hear something breaking. When I got to the source I saw a woman being attacked by four wolves, it was Iris. Suddenly life came back to me and I picked up a large rock. I threw said rock towards a wolf; it didn’t notice and was immediately crushed by it. The other wolves took notice of it and diverted their attention towards me. All try to surround and lunge at me, all at the same time. I block one of the bites with my arm, the bite pierce through my skin but I didn’t care. I grabbed the biting wolf by the neck and started hitting the rest of the wolves with its body. They backed off while being wary of me, I only stared at the whimpering wolf at my hand.

I firmly grasp its neck and slowly twisted it, it would whimper louder and louder as it struggles until finally I heard a loud snap. Wolf on my hand stopped moving and was listless. I move my attention to the other wolves as I glared.

With every step I take towards them, they would take a step. Getting annoyed by their lack of will, I threw the dead wolf at them; to which they dodged. I screamed at the top of my lungs that reverberated in the air. Their ears and tails fell down and scampered away.

With them gone I head towards Iris, I didn’t even notice it but it seems she removed the crystal wall. As I walking to her, she ran towards me; before I could even reach her I fell down on the floor then everything was black.

+++++

I woke up the next day with Iris lying beside me while firmly clinging to my arm, as I got up I woke Iris up as well.

“Reival is safe. Iris is so happy.”

“Hey… sorry I was gone for long.”

She doesn’t say anything but instead just clings onto my arm even more. Man… the sensation of her chest must be divine….. that is if I could feel anything at all. Yep… I can’t feel anything. I must’ve passed the limits of my body and went numb from the immense amount of pain I had to go through. The bite on my hand is still there but it stopped bleeding, it probably wasn’t that deep. That reminds me, I haven’t eaten in days.

“Iris do you have any food?”

“Iris did not eat for a long time. Iris waited for Reival.”

Ahhh… that’s right. She doesn’t know how to cook nor hunt for food. I should probably teach her soon, even if my cooking is sorta shabby. I stand up and was met with immense nausea; I staggered as I got a massive headache. I endure it and go to one of the wolf corpse.

“Iris go get some wood nearby.”

She scampers of into the trees while I skinned the blue wolf. Iris came back carrying large dried twigs when I just finished skinning the wolf. I prepared the fire while sliced up the meat into smaller chunks. Cooked wolf taste like bland meat, but somehow it’s satisfying. Maybe it’s because it was our first meal in days. We both rested again for one day and went back towards Scribel on the next along with the egg.

This exam took way longer that I expected, maybe over two weeks when we arrived at Scribel. I was still feeling severely tired and asked Iris file the report for me and buy ourselves a weak health potion. I wondered if our journey together would be this hectic from now one.

I headed back to my room in tavern whilst waiting for Iris.

Iris greet Guild

Reival and Iris finish exam job. Iris offer big blue egg as proof. Reival got hurt by big bird and wolves but Reival fine now. Reival and Iris will rest for few days before doing jobs again.

:blobthumbsup: Was a fun read

:blob_pat_sad: Hopefully Reival and Iris get better

I put up a quest! Now, all the world-builders, you have excuses to talk about your previous worlds now! :blob_hide:
Oh, that's pretty neat~

... That said, Nene's world is just a generic fantasy world A, with scawy stronk slimes and a human empire that is filled with religious fanatics that hate non-humans... A totally unique plot as you might imagine! XD

So... There isn't much to be said about it... >.>

I was thinking of using @Generic.Archdemon 's dystopian future's ideas to make a demon kingdom to the North, later on.

Probably a C-B rank area... But I'd need Nene on rank D at least before doing that one. So... A few months for now~

It was never really determined. From the perspective of a bunch of level 2-4 adventurers, they were “high level” monsters.

I think in my head, it was intended as an E rank region.
Then it was indeed like that. I've just had a feeling that it may be a little bit of a stretch so I decided to re-write half of my report

What about Rank S? :blob_evil:
Rank S territories are a bad idea since the ranked territories suggest that there should be monsters above the said rank. And if we would have S rank territory to it should suggest that there would be beyond S rank creatures... well at least in my opinion that's how it is with the territories

I would imagine S rank be cataclysmic to the degree that it affects a whole continent if not dealt with in time.

Announcement: Looking for Moderation Staff Applications

Hi all~ Given some recent events, I've decided that formally establishing a formal moderation team will be beneficial for the game.

Originally, this version of AG was envisioned as a "staff-less" game, but several incidents of drama have made it apparent that it is important to have some authority structure to help regulate the player-base. Specifically, I'm referring to (A) overpowered characters, (B) disputes at the reception desk, and (C) quest reports that violate Scribble Hub's content guidelines.

Any future team of moderation staff is intended to function as a collective entity, and there should not be any moderators acting unilaterally without conferring with the entire team. This is to avoid individual moderator bias. I will also be establishing a staff PM for the purposes of discussing moderation issues.

Please note that this staff does not exist to plan events, create regions, or drive "plot". As per the spirit of the original game, all players are encouraged to make events, regions, plot, etc. The function of the moderation team is only to resolve disputes and enforce rules.

If you have any questions, feel free to direct them to me.

+ + +

If you're interested, PM me a staff application and answer the following questions:

1. What is your prior experience moderating or participating in online communities?
2. What is your level of activity? How active do you anticipate yourself being in the future?
3. Go to the Registration Desk. Pick 1-2 characters that you think are overpowered, and explain why you think they are overpowered.
4. A player posts a quest report that involves an ability that you think is overpowered. What do you do?
5. Two players are having a heated argument in the OOC thread that involves insults and other things. What do you do?
6. There is a player that consistently makes drama and causes trouble with other people. What do you do?
7. Why do you want to be staff?

Thanks everyone!
