Ya know, you're writing then you went back and reads it, found it bad and not good enough, so you went ahead and written it, though no matter what you did it still suck ass.

Sometimes ya wonder, wil the stories in mind will perish alongside me.
am I an author or just no one? a person without nothing, not even a talent, or a thing for something they love the most.

I looked back at my previous now deleted works, it suck ass.

I admire you people for loving your works, quite the opposite of me, well it is no surprise considering, I never been good at anything at all.

As long as it's not a draft then no, I don't experience this anymore. I used to when I was still a little shit in high school. Since then I published enough papers and other texts, to move past this phase. At least in my native language.

I don't like my works. But I don't think about talent and whatnot.
Well I do, as I already previously stated, being overshadowed by others of my peers and being compared to them, isn't really a good experienced.

Know yourself. Know what you want to write, how, the style you want to achieve. And when you read something good, don't compare, but take notes. Learn from others, and move towards what you want to achieve, not towards how they write.

I like seeing the progress I've made as a writer. It's fun to read my older, rougher works again.

Learning to be positive about your work, whether good or bad, is good skill to develop.

No matter what the end result, you still wrote something and kept going.

I also think new writers benefit from seeing that progress from more experienced writers. Just like other forms of art, no one starts great.

My case's different
Write > Publish without rereading > Reread > Fine it incomprehensible > Ignores > Gets no views. > repeat

I have experienced this a few times. It's not strictly a writer thing. For me, the realization comes right after the initial growth period.

I realize I am talented, but it's not enough. And when I hit that low, I start having a bunch of negative thoughts. What I did for writing, in particular, is learn more about it.

At that time when I felt like shit and wanting to quit I watched videos on writing, read other peoples writing, edited my own stuff, etc. I even made a thread about dialogue tags from sources I learned from at the time.

The point is if you want to keep going now is the perfect time to learn more. Even if you are talented it can only get you so far.

I reread my stuff all the time. I find it quite enjoyable. I do, from time to time, find a word here or there where I go, "Ehhh... I used that too many times." then I make a minor correction, but that's about it.

I have this kind of case. I found troubles in my work and fixed them. And I keep finding more troubles the more I re-read it.

But, instead of being pessimistic, I see my work as a refined one. If someone said my stories are badly structured, then I'll try to better it again.

Depends on the draft. Yeah, the 1st-3rd draft whenever I read them will probably suck, but anything past the 4th draft I usually find written well. Think of your first three drafts as word vomit. By cleaning up the word vomit, it'll actually become understandable. Now all that depends is if the story itself is good and not filled with plot holes, out-of-character decisions, and just general good storytelling.

If I go back and read it, normally I save it from being shelved.

Mine is little different problem, I was in webtoon for few months , there were so much Ai story that destroyed my mind that and taste these days whenever I go my read my old stories.

I feel like it's written by AI, not because it is actually written by AI but it contains words like 'profound' etc which a word AI's like to use extensively.

So I try avoid or correct them as much as I can
