So, I am thinking of making Saturday a rest day, and my question is as follows:
Can I do more than 10 km of cycling (fitness bike, not a real bike), or should I take it easy for the rest of today? (I already did my 10 km)
Thank you for your time!

this is not enough information to judge Ö.O Rest day is always good, otherwise you end up as Saitama with no hair...

10km cycling is a lot, but it depends on the speed you're going at. I think you can go more, but not at sprinting speed and with proper stretching to prevent injuries. Also not everyday, it will strain your tendons. But take my advice with a grain of salt, this couch potato doesn't even walk 2km per day.

Thank you for the answer. It is just that I watch stuff while cycling, and I barely notice the time.

Yes. Just listen to your body.

If you're watching/reading while on your fitness bike then you're doing light maybe medium intensity cardio.

There should be no reason (other than lack of fitness) that would prevent you from doing 10km daily, or 20km+ before or on a rest day.

Often when I do my squats I will then do 10km+ on a bike at the gym to cool down.

You should be cycling at a pace where you are comfortable getting lost in a film or a book, or could easily hold a conversation. You shouldn't be gasping/out of breathe at any point (unless you want to train at that intensity for a reason).

It really just depends on what you feel comfortable doing. No one is gonna scold you for not doing too much or going to extremes (well maybe your doctor if you push yourself to the point of a heart attack).

If you find that you are not winded or feeling like your legs are jello then there is no harm in continuing to cycle while you're watching stuff. Plus the more exercise you do the more exercise you will be capable of doing.

Honestly, it sounds like you're already at the point that 10 km at a casual biking speed is nothing so it's not going to hurt to do more if you want to. But like it was already said, just pay attention to your body.

Yes. You can.

Low impact cardio such as cycling, swimming, Stairmaster, and similar things can be done at any time during your workout split. You technically can ride a bike 7 days a week for exercise and be fine. However, make sure to properly stretch, hydrate, and eat. Recovery is as important as the effort and the lack of it is how people get injured.

Yes, of course, you do want a variety in your workout split but if it's an off day and you're looking for something low impact to fill the void of nothingness, cycling is fine. Don't go hard, just cruise. Low resistance and slower pace.

Try to pace yourself.. I did the same with my weight reduction program.. for the first week just stick to 10k.. then for the second week increase it by 2km.. not much just 2km.

Keep increasing after a week so your body can match the stress of additional workout. I did this with jogging.. first week I barely did 1k.. then next week nothing more than 1k then I bumped it to 2k after the 3rd week then after another week 2.5k..

If you let your body adjust it can really give you a boost.. mind you I lost like 40kg with this method... After 3 months of grueling workouts.. I was really happy. Stay fit bro.. sky the limit and your body is a temple.. keep it up!!

I used to do 20km, though.

Destroy yourself and suffer for a few days, those are your rest days. My back is so sore, same as my arms. Ever day is arm day is not a good idea
