I know a lot of people who share the same opinion. Never felt that way myself, though, prolly because I tend to see myself as a distant observer when reading - they aren't me, they'll never be me, so I don't feel any point in comparing things. Funny enough, I mostly read SoL as books or manga, maybe you find it harder to immerse yourself in the fluffy scenes when reading instead of watching? Way harder to set those up without sound or visuals imo.Blank face, huh. I find watching SoL so depressing—they have the perfect version of lives we don't have. That is why I love them, and I have watched hundreds of them.
SoL books aren't entertaining somehow, though.
I gave up on Honkai because the new events kept on incentivizing me to play ahead and be confused as hell about the plot >_> (I know I could have just used skip, but still)The earliest chapters are the weakest in honkai storytelling. At that point, they weren't sure if they wanted it to be a side game of Hg2 or a stand-alone game. It gets better from there—at least better than most gacha game stories.
HoD arc was peak honkai, imo. Oh, and the second eruption manga. It is genuinely so good.
