Finally caught up with the OOC room posts.

About that Leon guy I was kinda plotting him to be related to the part of the Reef or at least one of the stronger ones. Since my train of thought is that if the guild can summon people from other worlds then why can't other people. What if the advancements in magic and tech were used on the opposing side. And, how would people in the guild or the people of the world fight against it. That kinda of thing. Sort of like a darker version of the AG. (No idea if this will still work out with the recent Reef advances, I can always just drop him in one of the later territories.)

The other one (the failed one) was the Ravens. They were similar with their theme being what if something clocks were used as a military advancement instead of a civilian one. And, how would it affect combat in this world. Because think about it, you can have two group run attacks on separate places on the same time without any sort of signal. And, the people getting ambushed won't really put that kind of time as a factor. At most they would be thinking morning evening, or midnight but not 12:00 AM, 5:00 PM, or 8:00 PM.

This looks pretty cool to me!

Though I had the impression the guild didn't quite summon people. Rather, the portals opened and people go through them willingly.

You put a lot of thought into it, even if you're thinking of scrapping the idea.
'-'
Still, in the end, he is sort of part of a crime organisation then, right?

Thank you very much. Thank you, for everything. I'm sorry I made you worry. I'm sorry for burdening you with my mistakes.

When she saw me, she was surprised. She was trying to move forward, but I held my hand in front of her, stopping her from moving further. Thank you, I said once again. The tears flowing freely from her eyes, as she know the inevitable.

Don't be sad. It is already the time for me to go, you know?
So, can you let me go, with a smile from yours?

At last, I could see you smile. Goodbye, Meiko.

"A new world traveler? Cain! Can you bring this one to the adventurer guild?"

She should have died. She could feel her body disintegrated, when she said goodbye to her. Her existence should be erased. But then, why was she here, alive?

Was this place the afterlife of men? There was no way for her to be alive, since she died in the real world. There was also the fact that the cycle of reincarnation of digital world denizen like her should have turned her into something like YukimiBotamon, not in this form.

She felt something was wrong. When she expand her senses, she could feel something was different. This place, something was different about this place. Meicoomon couldn't put it to her mind, but this place felt really different than Odaiba or Tottori. There was something that felt missing compared to her place.

"Hey... can you hear me?" The man waved in front of her, distracting her from her rumination.

She focused her sight on the man. The man was making a hand waving motion while saying, "Can you understand me?"

"Yes." Right, why could she understand him? He did not speak Japanese at all.

"Right, welcome to Tonia, traveler." The man said. "We have some traveler like you joining adventurer guild. Do you want to?"

With nothing better to do, she nodded.

+++

"Here we are." The man said. "I suggest after you register, you take those tutorial quests. Pretty Easy, if you ask me."

"Cain, new traveler?" the woman behind the desk said.

"Yeah. She came few minutes ago. Brought her here directly from the gate."

"Right. I'll take it from here. So, what's your name, miss?"

+++

After she finished the registration, the receptionist taught her how to read and write. She could somehow understand which combination of letter correspond to which sound. After all of that was done, the receptionist taught her to properly write quest report. She gave her the quill, paper and ink and asked two questions; about Tonia, scribel City and Adventurer guild and what landmark is there near the adventurer guild.

OOC: just assume that Mei put the description of the adventurer guild, since each adventurer's perception could be different.
Oof, you exaggerated a bit in the satanic text, I had to put it in a generator to convert it back to normal! >.<

Though for some reason I couldn't completely clean out the 2nd paragraph... I wonder why~

So, I made the power structure of the Spire Reef sea as the Black Sea, where Seven Pirate Kings, also known as the Scourge of the Seven Seas, ruled over with their iron fist regime. The Black Sea, encompassed an extremely large amount of water body, got sliced into 7 parts, each ruled by the Seven Pirate Kings. Only one Pirate King was named at the moment, named One-Eyed Snake King.

Here's some reference for the 'pirate language' and the inner working of the pirate ship:
The main focus of the guild would be the event where the Seven Pirate Kings came in contact with the Underwater Kingdom of Merfolks, Sirens, Naga etc. where they sought to trade and make peace on the surface. However, underneath the peace treaty, they tried to obtain "the great artefact that protected their kingdom from the King of the Black Sea, the Kraken". That's the overall situation I thought about, is it big and expansive enough for a region?
This might be a bit larger than a single region. That said, I think it's perfectly okay to let a plot extend through multiple regions etc.

My thought right now is to keep the Spire Reef quest board limited to the local (ish) area with a lower range of levels up to around level ~10-ish. However, it would make total sense if there were further regions on the high seas that are higher difficulty (Rank D/C/B) which could lead to more kingdoms (e.g. mermaids) or exotic islands.

Regarding the Underwater Kingdom -- somewhat should put that in their quest report, and perhaps that the can be next region linking from Spire Reef.

I think it's a little premature to climax Level 10 with a major Pirate King encounter (let alone seven), so I would prefer to shove off a Pirate King encounter to a higher level. From a story-design perspecetive, another viable alternative is to stick the weakest of all the pirate kings in Spire Reef (because intentional power scaling lol).

Or even a pirate king wannabe who uses the king title in a self-proclaiming manner but hasn't actually been recognised by the official pirate kings.

I set the stage for the power to be through the roof, so that we could realistically do anything. I agreed that we should not be fighting Pirate Kings with our rank D adventurers. Just their powerful lackey should do the trick. I made it that the Seven Pirate Kings, with help of the secret artefact, could repel the Kraken, so they must have some extra-powerful strength to do that.

Of course, I intended the plot to progress further, so that the north of the Scribel City won't be stuck with just the Spire Reef.

Also, added some backstory and some secret vault into the mix regarding the Seven Pirate Kings, to make sure that some dark hands could be residing in the Spire Reef.

I'd say a pirate king wannabe should be like an A-rank threat with their crew and without a B-rank threat.

Ah, that's right....whelp. There always plan B. Pretend this was all part of my master plan and that it was to show the opposing philosophies of the guild and the criminal organization that Leon's with. One aims for loyalty by giving the summoned freedom and the other uses their power to make them bend to their will. Totally planned out I swear.

I also made some edit to the plot, changed from the Seven Pirate Kings who came into contact with the Underwater Kingdom to be that the Lord before the Seven Pirate Kings was the one who made the treaty. The lord disappeared, leaving his remaining royal servants, the Seven Pirate Kings, to resume his authority.

In other big picture news:
  • I'd like to see another low-rank region so low-level adventurers aren't stuck around Scribel.
    • East of Scribel (close) - perhaps a plains tribe?
    • West of Scribel - more human stuff?
  • I'd like to see further development of more regions! More regions! More regions!
    • Lizardmen
    • Fuyu Machi
    • Halfwing Federation
  • Help me write guild quests (actually write them) xD
    • Spire Reef will open soon!!!! (TM) As soon as quests can be written!
    • Gelderholm could use more!
  • I'd like to see more plots (and custom quests) coming out of Quest Reports. Follow each other's ideas!

No, no, no, as in someone who greatly admires the actual pirate kings and dreams of being one, but isn't actually anywhere close to being as strong as them.
Think of a kid who admires his dad who is a high-ranking soldier. He plays with his friends and pretends to be a soldier commanding troops; the difference in strength is vast and the reality is completely different.
