Well, it's official. I just uploaded the last chapter of my first full, finish story. Next up is the rewrite of the prequel (Trust me, the prequel desperately needs one. I was still getting back in the good habits I'd lost after years of not writing).

It's... bittersweet. I'm glad to have my first full story under my belt, and I'm exceedingly proud of it. But at the same time, I feel kinda... 'meh' for lack of a better way of saying it. Like, I really became attached to the characters. I didn't feel this way with A Succubus' Love nor the original Lay The Dragon. It's weird and I'm not sure I like it...

That's the plan. Only 3 chapters, but I feel it had good pacing. I'm hoping to introduce what i've learned and apply it to my first one.

AIN'T NO WAY
THIS IS NOT HOW AN AUTHOR IS SUPPOSE TO BE, WHO ARE YOU, THE LORD ABOVE!?

Perhaps, but that's for me to know ;)

But no, seriously, it's kinda terrifying. But so is having a story go for 200+ chapters like some people here. I doubt I could keep interest in my own story for that long, let alone ask anyone else to. I'm kinda envious of those who do.

Congratulations!
And sorry that it doesn't want to let you go...

Grats mate! Cheers!

Posts like this encourage me more to inch my way to my novel's (my main project) ending. So far, I'm also about to end the 4th arc, and I'm on my way to the 5th and last arc.

Edit: I did tell myself I'd finish my main novel by December 31, 2023. Yeah, that didn't age well. I was only halfway through (three volumes this year)...though I'm about to write Volume 18 this January 2024.

As a writer who has finished one of his six novels, I'm proud of you. Writing and finishing a novel are two different things.

Great achievement, congratulations! :blob_party:
It's normal to feel empty and bittersweet when you finish something. All human things have a beginning and an end, except the writings of George RR Martin
