Random passing thought that may or may not be related to what I'm brewing in my head. I've seen shop permits, but I wonder what is the chartering of land. I don't really remember what are the powers that be in the land (not even if there are any), aside from probably the Scribel City's government, so I was wondering about that.

Can I get some more opinions from others as well? So far we are 2 votes for model 1 and 3 votes for model 2.

@Himekawa I believe @Zoey put up some weaker healing solutions in their shop.

In either case, the npc shops were intentionally designed so that there was room for players to insert themselves into the market. If npc shop items are too cheap or too good, it becomes much more difficult for a player alchemist or player blacksmith to compete. I'm trying to push players to interact with each other more rather than automatically finding the "easy" solution at the NPC market.

I think my feelings about healing potions are very similar. I'd prefer players to find ways to interact with other characters who are healers or finding their own special supplier for medical goods. Simply buying your potions in the market and having plenty of money to easily do so... to me, it's the "easy" solution that takes the interestingness out of the writing game.

Personally, I would actually be happy if there wasn't an NPC potion shop at all, and players needed to exercise their creativity and figure out their own way to deal with this kind of affair.

Regarding the realism of the prices -- potion prices are indexed specifically to medieval herb prices. In terms of the reagents, the slime cores are worth at least 10G (at least because the guild needs to make a profit), and the herbs are at least 20G. The reagents alone are worth at least 30G, but probably more realistically around 50G. When you add the alchemist's component of actually making the potion, this pushes the weak potion price to at least 70-80G, which is in fact the stated price.

hmm... I'm all for player's market. But other than high priced item like weaponry and armors, can they compete? I imagine it would be a hassle to roleplay each time you want to replenish your stock. The player have to contact other player directly for competitive pricing or they can post at the guild with more reward for the other adventurer, thus having higher material price compared to the guild.

The other alternative is gathering those items directly, of course. but copy pasting closed freestyle RP is boring...

As far as I know (which is not much, considering everything), I don't think we talked about the actual power ruling over Scribel City. Though it is implied that the guild has a major say in things relating to it(since it is able to issue diplomatic quests and stuff of the sort).

Ok, here is a cool character idea. Your character is the One Above All. Since his power overrules the omniverse, it can work everywhere, including tonia(this bypasses the skill level reset restriction). After that, you flick your hand the whole universe disappears. End of the game.

Mmmmmmmm, we have very different definitions of cool~
How many adventurer can fly?
Meiko is the only one I can think of actually.

Maybe Nahrenne's character might learn it because she is a vampire and stuff though.

Are we considering the mega broken guys that never actually do anything related to the game after creating their chars too?
Writing character build is actually fun, though. I wonder how many character I've made but not used in NUF AG?

It's the writing of the story that made those character boring.

It's just the blatant disregard of power levels (and common sense) that rubs me off the wrong way.

is that a char I didn't have the pleasure to meet?
Haxagen was a player from NUF's version of AG.

He was pretty dedicated, but was a bit too enthusiastic and didn't have good notions of power level... >.>
