Wolves? Yeah, they'll kill you. A bear? If yer healthy, you might get left for dead, otherwise, yer toast. But Moose?

Moose never kill you.

No matter how bad you are, the moose won't kill you. You just lose half your health... AND get a Broken Ribs injury. Which takes about a MONTH in game to heal, during which time your carry capacity is in the toilet, you'll need a few bottle of pain killers, and you can't climb ropes. There is a moose encounter that is at the bottom of a rope, so if you get jumped in that part of the map, yer just fucked.

Piss off the bear after it leaves you for dead, it comes back to finish you off. The Moose? It gives you a SECOND Broken Ribs Injury.

That thing is like a missile. It always homes in on you. It never gives up. It can no clip through the bottom of a bridge to get you from below, or through the wall of a fishing hut. And if you don't get it with a kill shot, it never dies. Shoot a wolf, it'll run off and bleed out. Shoot a bear, it'll get angry but eventually die. The Moose?

Moose don't bleed.

It's a headshot to its left eye, or you are praying to RNGesus and hoping for a random critical to take it down. Not the right eye, mind you. The left, ONLY. You know, the creature known for having eyes on the SIDE of its head. Good luck getting that one pixel that will one-shot the muther. Oh, and I Hope you have a Rifle or a Bow, because the Pistol, unless you have maxed out your pistol skill, is useless. You can unload your .357 revolver into a moose all day long with a Pistol skill of 4 and it will just LAUGH at you as it gallops up to you and traps you in a cut scene of its front two hooves doing a tap dance on your chest. I once was screwing around and just testing the game. I managed to unload 38 arrows into the body of a moose once before a random critical took it down. It looked like a goddamn porcupine.

And I'm told the designer did all this because he had to go up against a moose once, and it was tougher in real life than the one he made in the game.
