Today, I found my own story for sale on amazon, even though I did not put it there. I managed to take it down, but found many other 'suspicious' novels that shared very similar covers to the rip-off version of mine. They all are priced around 2,80 €, most of them at 2,84. The contents are always limited to: Summary, Chapters and Cover, no afterword, no acknowledgments. It is very likely all of the books below have been pirated.

I do not know if a similar thread exists, but I felt like doing this, just for people to check out.

If you are concerned about your book, feel free to look through the list, and if you find one you recognize, even if not your own, please share it with the author, or at least write below this post.

Here's the list, if I made a mistake and one of them is a genuine book, tell me and I will remove it from the list:
Warning! The list is very long.

This is very hard to scan quickly, but I thought I would note for others that copy-pasting 5 at a time into discord is more efficient for scanning than clicking on the links individually.

Just a musing of mine but that screenshot of the "Kindle Unlimited", "subscribers read for free" just stuck to my mind.
I wonder how much Amazon makes money from these stolen novels, which might or might not be sold, but are read by subscribers of their service?
Someone that has actually used KU might be better able to explain their experience but I think they get paid by how far a reader makes it through the story. So if someone reads it for free the author still gets some Bezos bucks, not sure how much per read though.

Not entirely wrong. You get V-Bucks per pages read. Not by a single user, but all of them. I think on KU they give something like xyz US Dollar for 1000 pages read.

So, I have to pay Amazon for the KU membership to read the story to verify whether it has been stolen or is somewhat suspicious and then report it...

No need for an amazon account to preview. At least I managed to read a few pages of a few of the novels that were linked in this thread without having to log in.
They usually have a preview button under the image.

If it has a preview you can check that without any expenditure

Though I think you need an amazon account to see the preview.
I have an Amazon account because I have a subscription to Audible.
The same account can be used for Amazon if I want to buy things.
KU, however, is entirely different service and need to be paid extra

Moments like these is when Ai-chan doesn't regret not updating for 2 years. It's amazing that amazon still hasn't updated their made scam detection automatic yet with all they money they have.

Try to copy-paste one of those OP's stolen stories on the Royal Road, and you will be stopped in 24 hours tops.

They have no incentive to update their scam detection. They suffer no consequences for copyright infringement despite being able to profit from it. Even if they do 'ban' someone who gets reported, the legit author doesn't get the money the banned person made--amazon keeps all of it. Until a class action lawsuit happens and slaps them, it will stay like this.

So basically the big Amazon takes the money made off of you and keeps it for themselves?

That was why I asked how Amazon was making money from that subscription service.
They probably do not care to go after stolen content because of that. Readers who are not aware that what they are reading is stolen are still reading stolen content through that service.
And the more "content" there is, the better for Amazon. This makes people want to use their services even more. While for the legit owners of the content, well, you know what happens...
