I learned that our immune systems don't know we have eyes and if it ever found out we have eyes it would destroy them both. Also bonus horrifying fact, our white blood cells are incredibly effective at killing cancer cells because they are doing it constantly. Humans only "get cancer" when it becomes out of control, which due to many circumstances everyone has about a 2/5 chance of being diagnosed with cancer in their lives and a 1/4 chance of dying from cancer. Ahh the human body, a true carnival of horrors.

I learned that Bulgaria has had a decreasing population for the past 10 years.
Make it closer to 30 years. Lotta people "went West" after 1989. Birth rates also hit rock bottom during the 90s, which was why around mid- to late 00s a bunch of kindergartens and schools closed down from lack of students. And then several years later, when the gap closed, it triggered a schooling crisis. Classic lack of societal foresight.

But our population decline is the least of our troubles. If anything, it's prevalent precisely because of said troubles.
