well looks like I'm under pricing my shop if that's food prices...
Was a loaf of bread really 38% of daily wages? That seems pretty high.
Bread was very important to people, since it was a staple food that could be easily made and last a while while providing both energy and filling the stomach.

So I've finally gotten around to looking at prices, and I did some research.

The main thing of note is that armor is superrrrrrr expensive (going by historical prices).
Might it be best to put this in the Libary?

Jfc.... so this is saying that... my chars equipment is tooooooo expensive as a starter?????

He is wearing a plate set after all.

*goes back to the editing board to figure out how to preserve the plate set and saving up on money.*

If you would like, go ahead with the research!:blobthumbsup::blobthumbsup:
So I couldn't find a price for land (Because land was owned by the local lords and I'm to lazy to try to calculate a price based off of your table.) but I think we can assume that land outside the cities protection will be a lot cheaper than the land inside. So basically I don't know what the price would be.

Alright how are these prices? I've done the following adjustments:
  • I doubled the prices for most things since food costs seemed cheap (...or at least, nothing like 10 G = daily cost of living). Clearly, a medieval's laborer's daily wages are much more than the cost of living.
  • I removed a whole zero from armor prices and horse prices.
  • I didn't adjust the weapon prices. The reasoning is that food is so much cheaper, so saving up 6 days of income shouldn't be too hard for most characters to get a sword.
  • For magic... buying an introductory tome is expensive... same as the cost of buying a book in the medieval era.
    • Rationale is that "magic" builds in fantasy settings/games are traditionally expensive builds.
    • To compensate this, I added a "mysterious scribble of paper" item -- which might be a fragment of a book that a character can maybe attempt to study/interpret to learn a single spell. Learning something from a scrap paper isn't guaranteed, but it's far cheaper than buying a whole book.

I thought I was somewhat rich since I have like 400 G, but now I felt poor again. Can't even buy a good old average sword... :blob_pat_sad:

Guess I would have to really sell my experiment results... :blob_reach:

*escapes into the woods and builds a house*

I think people who can survive alone in the wilderness will have no problem making a house in like, halfway between gelderholm and scribel
What about all the monsters like goblins who would ransack your house when your gone?

I'm sure your if your a good enough with magic you could probably get away with it.
Make the house very nice then rent a part of the house to a strong adventurer. Provided they protect the house?

Survive alone in the forest. All alone. Have survival skill, can differentiate poisonous and healing herb, can hunt. I think my char is okay-ish in that department. Maybe I will make him have a small hut in the northern forest.
