Well... Not a self insert, or if it IS a self-insert, I clearly hate myself. (Spoiler: I do.)
But Hari-Kiri Nonfeasance has that. (see sig) Although There is a romance subplot, but the wife is dead at the start of the story, so it's more of a tragedy, I suppose. The Army building and Nation building will be more in depth in book 2.

What do you mean by "self insert fanfic" ?

Do you need the "Y/N" "Reader" thingy ? Or you want like a MC to be quite [anti-routine] with a big brain?
Fanfic. Which fanfics ? Whatever or 2d animes or realism marvel ?

For action/technology gap, there are lot of series, but "self insert" ? That is a pickle.
