How to remove a bad review from a hater.

Can anyone help me in removing a bad review from a hating person.
I am a new author so I don't know how it works. My novel is gaining good popularity but maybe someone did not like that.

So that person gave a 1 star bad review while putting a corrupt and deteriorated version of my story in spoiler tag.

And it was the first review. So can I do anything about this?

Everything is modded by one person. He does everything, approves new stories, look after forums and so on, so it might take time. Also, if the mod doesn't think the review breaks any rule or is unfair, he will keep it. But I bet that you simply should wait a little bit longer.

Not everyone that doesn't like your story gives you 1 star on bad faith. Accept the criticism and move on or something.
From what I saw, that one-star review is much more informative and helpful than the one 5-star review that says literally nothing and was probably created in response to that 1-star.
What I'm trying to say is that 1-star review is probably not going anywhere.

Yes. It does feel that way. Take a deep and calm breath and read the review again. Then read your novel again. Just reading the author's note in your latest chapters makes me feel like you can't take any criticism and calls anyone who calls you out a "bully."

Well, the admin would remove the bad feedback/review if there's no merit to it. I saw Tony say it before, to avoid authors flooding him with removal requests, and 'censor' the reviews in favor of the writers.

out of curiosity, I did read the review and it seems legit enough. I doubt anyone will remove it.

Not everyone's going to like your book and honestly that review is well written and states why that reader dislikes your novel, unlike the five-star one that reads like a chapter comment.

But then again, nothing is fair, especially when it comes to reviews. That's why I always advocate having thought of your plans for your story before actually publishing it, so that when such reviews come, you know what to accept and to throw away.

I'm pretty sure that's a proper review even if the reviewer himself said that it's a rant. I think reviews on grammar and other objective things are almost worthless unless they're so bad that they need to be mentioned.

No-no, don't take me wrong. I simply don't think this can be considered criticism since the reviewer talked about highly subjective topic without trying to be more objective about it. I have my own standards about reviews and criticism, and I think this "review" was simply reader stating his personal opinion. I think readers can and obviously will do it.

The guys literally said at the end of the review that he will change it if he see your story improve as he continue to read it. It seem like a true review for me and it's not like he the only one who rate your story 1 star. The only other review you have are not a review, just a 5 star saying, good job. That not a review at all.


Try read what he said and really think about it, don't see it as a hater cause it doesn't seem like this with what he write.

I had one review like that too before and after the reader continue to read my chapters, he changed his rating on his own without a need to ask or complain about it.

Not everyone will like your story, some who don't care about the genre you write will just leave, but there some who like this genre so much, they will be strict with the rating, so 1 star can happen in all stories, it even an obligatory passage for all writers.

Regardless of whether the assumptions of the reviewer are true or not - it's a valid review. There's a lot of reviews ranting about what they don't like about a story on this site.

Oh...I do get your point now.

But yeah, even if it's a matter of pref, many other readers hated that trope/set of events enough for it to be a trend in writing isekai-harem genres nowadays.

My story got attacked because of that as well, since many of the readers hated slow-growth MCs and is always looking for logic in an illogical setting. My solution is to remove the story here and give a new home. I'm at peace ever since. lol
