Fanfics with romance vs fanfics with no romance, which do you prefer?

For the users on this site that read fanfics, do you enjoy fanfictions with romance, do you guys have a preference for fanfics that do not have any romance, or does it depend on the type of fanfics that you are reading?

Depends on how the romance was written. There are stories (not just fanfics) where I would wish there wouldn't be any romance because it was simply badly written.

I don't read many fanfics (I've read maybe a few in the last couple of months) but when I do, I really don't like romance. Most of the cases it's wish-fulfillment that's hard to read for someone who likes the characters.

Just tweak the setting a bit, change the names, and admit to your story being inspired by the franchise you're ripping off and everyone thinks you are some writing genius brimming with novel ideas...

depends. fanfics where serious effort was put in to the romance to not make it shitty are great. fanfics that are just lazy horny self-insert fapfics are just hell no.
