I prefer to eat mild foods. Simple is best. Though I do love that Thai soup with shrimp and I think coconut milk they serve at a nearby restarauntYou won't be able to handle my food then. Depends on the dish. If it’s Mexican, then I can handle roughly half a tablespoon of Sriracha in one bowl of Spanish rice (with all the peppers, onions, spices, chiles, etc). Same amount of food to spicy amount holds true for the rest of Mexican cuisine. Soups of any kind, I like spicy, but not to that level. And tteok-bokki and other Korean foods need to make my face numb, with boatloads of kimchi, chili paste, etc.Weird question, how much spicy can you handle?
I can straight up eat and chew Thai chili with ease. But I prefer to dry it up and grind into a powder for seasoning.
Weakling! LMFAO!white person level; my nose starts to run when I eat mild salsa
My goodness! I tip my nonexistent hat to you and Rhaps. I can’t eat that stuff plain. Even directly added to a dish is a bit much(not those ones that say they have ghost peppers and it is practically nothing pepper-wise. I’m not that weak).I grew up eating raw ghost peppers and Carolina reaper peppers. Not too long ago one of the people at my work brought in the hottest hot sauce from the show hot ones and I was completely unfazed by it. Mapo tofu is pretty good and spicy. All in all, I would say I can handle a lot of spice.
For cheap price, I recommend get from the local market since those usual are cheaper than in supermarket, because most sellers get them from nearby farms or grow themselves. I can get a bag of Thai chili from the market for less than a dollar.I love spicy food, though my tolerance wanes and waxes depending on if I've had enough of it recently. I was recently trying to figure out the most affordable way of getting the spiciest stuff possible and considering growing some.
