While foxgirls are cute in fiction, in practice we'd need to spend double the time taking care of hair.
The normal time for taking care of hair, and then this same amount of time to take care of the tail.
This sounds pretty hellish to me. Hair-care already takes enough time as is. Please don't further increase it.

Only twice? I'm pretty sure it would be more than that, and drying would take way longer too. But fluffy tail is 100% worth it. It takes even longer the more tails too, but that is why you get other people to help with making sure they stay fluffy and clean. Also most foxgirl mythology has them able to use magic, so just magically clean?

I don't think it would take much longer, since it's more like a big group instead of multiple strands like it is with hair.
The drying process though... That could be tougher. Mainly because it could very easily wet whatever you're sitting on if you let it dry naturally.
Would probably need to put a towel on top of my PC's chair while waiting for it to dry, but that could end up getting in the way of letting the tail look nice once dried out.
... And now that I think about it... Curly tails might be horribly hard to make look pretty. I love my curly hair, but I don't think it would look nice on a tail... It could be quite messy.
... I guess there is a reason you never see foxgirls with curly hair in fiction.
Yeah... I really don't think foxgirls would be a good idea... It sounds like the work it would take to maintain the tail would be hellish.

I have long hair. I completely understand this pain. It would seriously hinder daily activities if a chunk of your time is spent on hair-care. Furthermore, when it's hot, the fur/hair would be literally everywhere. Dear lord, it's really is hell!

Those of us in the long hair gang know how rough hair can get. Also don't forget clogging the drain in the shower. Fluffy tails are still worth it though.
