I'm generally curious as to how you pEOPLe encourage yourself.

I'd share my method, but I'm pretty sure this thread would then be closed.

Honestly, I feel that reading encourages me. I love books, and whenever I feel like I've read a particularly good one I can't help but picture myself in that world, interacting with its characters. Where would I have gone? What would I have done? How do I make a lot more sex happen here?

Writing for me is an opportunity to do that. To create the kind of worlds I want to see, and then expose them like a flasher does to random passersby.

I remind myself of all the things I've already accomplished to tell myself I'm prepared for the next step. In the case of parenting, I'm constantly reminding myself that most parents haven't taken a university-level human development course or worked at multiple scout camps, etc.

Not wanting to fail has been a big one... but wanting to complete what I started is probably a better way at looking at it.

Besides that, wanting to do something at least good and be proud of something I make.

But they are the passive methods I guess....

Hm.... I guess I don't really have an active encouragement method? Watching someone else (or me reading in the case of writing), does motivate me a bit to do that thing, but not by enough.

How I encourage myself?

Aside from 'Letting go and letting God', I take pride in every finished output I did.

Now you gotta tell us.

I just really like what I do, and I keep a healthy schedule that doesn't eat away at my lifespan.

Well, seeing the end product is usually encouraging enough I find.

If you mean on days when I don't feel like writing, I offer myself a reward after success

Because I am great and better than everyone else. I can’t fall if my ego destroys any self doubt

Letting go, and letting God?

That's not in the Bible. That's not what God said to do.

If you want better results, more help from God, than do as the Bible says and lay hold, fight the good fight of faith.
Forgive me of you take offense, but if you lay hold like God says to do. If you reach out with firm hope to do what you've been led to do, or to simply receive help in a hard situation. God will reach back and meet your faith. He will help you and encourage you, with strength. He will lift you up and stir you up.

It will be a miracle.
Now you gotta tell us.

I listen to God. I pray and hope, that is expecting good. I refuse the lies the enemy tells me, and the whispers he whispers to all.

I choose faith, even when it looks like failure is all there is. I continue in that faith, believing with firm confidence that God will help me.

And every time I do that, he does. He helps me the moment I'm willing to believe him to help me. The moment I leave rebellion and seek him. As soon as I acknowledge him, and welcome him into my situation. Whether that be deleted things that wouldn't go well, or writing more than what I could accomplish on my own in a fraction of the time it would have taken me.

I don't give up, of fall into disparity, because I have a God who loves me and has sent the holy spirit; the comforter and my always present help, to help me.

It's amazing in a way that just escapes words. And I find myself craving it, wanting to sense God at work again and again.

I don't mean to offend, but that's no way to live.

There is a way to live that is far better, where victory has been made part of your very spirit. Where you will work good works every time you make yourself willing to do them.

I speak of Christ. Who has sacrificed himself for all, so that all may be saved through his blood, if only they accept it and confess him as their lord and savior.

In him there is eternal victory, both now and in the world to come. In him will the holy spirit be given, and he and God himself will dwell in you as a living temple. Your body will be made part of his body, healing and strength and authority will be given to you. And by the anointing of the holy spirit will you know all things. Not as God, who is always all knowing, but by a witness inside you.

It is both the most exciting way to live and the best way to live. Without question.

Here's my take on your words.

I got my own experiences with God and Faith. Let's leave it at that.

If you would humor me, I'd request that you read the book of Hebrews, and at the very least Hebrews 9 to 11.
