You know, I was starting to think you were being sarcastic. But I realize now you just don't know how the system works.

1) Don't post more than one chapter a day. The system thinks you are spamming so it actively hides you.
2) The sweet spot is once every three days. The reason being it means over time you will evetually post a chapter on every day of the week. It gives your viewer time to read the chapter before the next one (it seems to be about 48 hours is when you get your most views on a new chapter) but it also gives you time to review and evaluate how your story is going. For some reason, when I did it more that 3 days, my over all engagement dropped, but when I did every 2 days, I had more engagement, but my views dropped per capita.

If you consider that it takes time and resources to write, then you get the most "bang for your buck" by posting every three days. However, I have found, (if you have enough material) to have three books posting at the same time, (staggered) each 3 days apart, creates the most over all engagement, views, as well as promotion from the algorithm.

I tested this systematically over the better part of 6 months, changing it up and posting at different times by date, day of the week, and frequency. OVERALL, I believe every three days is the best.

If you just want to get it out there, then go every two days, but every day actually has worse results than every other day. I don't know why. You would think every day would be the best, but there was about a 8% drop in per capita views by posting every day. I suspect the algorithm is involved somehow. I think it tries to promote everyone, and if the system favored activity, then it would be possible to "price out" other books. So I think this is some ort of nerf built into the process.

3) As for the best time to post, whatever you do, post at the same time every day. I personally post at 12:01 midnight. The reason being, sometimes when you post at 12:00 exactly, it actually posts you at 11:59 pm. You might not think that's a problem, but I believe trending does its calculation over a 24 or 48 hour period. Because of this, if you post at 12:01 am, you have a whole day to get on trending, but if you post at 11:59 pm, you only have one minute to get on trending.

There are other factors, but I'm talking about MAXIMIZING your chances of exposure.

HOWEVER, there is something to be said about posting at peek web site activity, in homes that someone might click on you because you are 'Just Released", however, my experiments with posting at peek times did not display any statistical improvement that I could show. Simply put, time of day does not SEEM to matter, but I just FEEL like 12:01 am works best.

This is why your story has such little engagement.

I suggest you correct this going forward, otherwise, you might become discouraged with the amount of interaction you recieve at SH. It's not your fault, but just be aware these are the conditions you post under here, and the system is set up this way to at least give everyone a shot at getting noticed.

Dear The Eldritch God,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your insights and advice on my recent post. Your detailed explanation about how the system works has been incredibly helpful, and I truly appreciate your willingness to shed light on the best practices for posting on the platform.

I must admit, I was initially unsure about the effectiveness of my posting frequency and timing, but your suggestions have provided much-needed clarity. Your points about avoiding spamming by posting no more than one chapter a day make perfect sense, and I now understand how it can significantly impact visibility. The sweet spot of posting once every three days seems like a well-balanced approach that not only allows readers ample time to engage with each chapter but also gives me the opportunity to evaluate and improve my storytelling along the way.

Your extensive experimentation and six-month test period truly showcase your dedication and commitment to understanding the platform's intricacies. I am genuinely grateful for your shared experiences, as they provide valuable insights for me and other aspiring authors to maximize our chances of exposure and engagement. Your suggestion of having multiple books posting simultaneously, staggered every three days, is an intriguing concept that I will certainly consider as I continue to develop my writing projects.

Furthermore, your observations on the best time to post and the nuances of trending calculations are enlightening. Your personal preference for posting at 12:01 am makes perfect sense in terms of extending the window for trending opportunities. I am grateful for your willingness to share these details, even if the statistical improvements may not have been definitive. Your instincts and experiences serve as valuable guiding principles.

Lastly, I want to express my gratitude for your straightforward and constructive feedback about the current engagement of my story. I am open to considering your suggestions and making adjustments moving forward. It is reassuring to know that the platform is designed to provide every author with a fair chance to be noticed, and I will make it a priority to optimize my posting frequency and timing according to your advice.

Once again, thank you for your invaluable input. Your willingness to share your knowledge and experiences is commendable, and it truly reflects the supportive and collaborative spirit of this writing community. I am grateful to have crossed paths with someone as knowledgeable and generous as you.

Warmest regards,

The Eternal Escape For One's Soul.

Thank you for your comment and the suggestion regarding the availability of multiple operating free feedback threads with their own unique quirks and rating systems. I am indeed aware of these resources and appreciate your reminder.

While I understand the value of utilizing various feedback platforms to improve my work, I have chosen to follow my personal code when it comes to making revisions. I believe in striking a balance between incorporating constructive feedback and staying true to my own creative vision.

I apologize if my forum post may have come across as sarcastic, as that was not my intention. I am sincerely grateful for the help and support I have received from this community. The guidance and suggestions I have received thus far have been invaluable, and I am eager to continue learning and growing as a writer.

Dear LunaSoltaer,

Thank you for your congratulatory message. I appreciate your kind words and support. While it may seem surprising to some that my story has only received a modest score, I personally believe it to be a fair reflection of its quality.

In my journey as a writer, I have come across numerous stories that excel in their construction, writing style, character development, and overall craftsmanship. There are indeed hundreds, if not thousands, of Scribblehub works that outshine mine in various aspects. Recognizing this, I hold no shame or disappointment in the score my story has received.

What truly matters to me is the journey itself and the incredible community that surrounds it. I am grateful for people like you, who take the time to engage with my milestone and offer support. It is the connections and interactions within this community that make the writing experience worthwhile.

I consider myself fortunate to be part of a community where talented individuals share their stories and support one another. The collective creativity, passion, and camaraderie inspire me to continue honing my skills as a writer and strive for improvement.

Once again, thank you for your congratulatory message. Your encouragement and the support of this wonderful community mean a great deal to me. I am happy to be here, embracing the journey and sharing my work with readers like you.

Warm regards,
The Eternal Escape For One's Soul.

My friend in writing. People already gave you most of the advice you need, but let me tell you something else. Sometimes success comes when you don't expect it. I will give an example from myself. Around end of 2021 my (now dropped) main story had a sudden increase in viewers started and went from 200 a day at best to 1000 a day. And I literally did nothing, people just went F* it, we are reading this shit now.

That's what happens when you post too many chapters at once. The site hides you.
