How do vampire stories do on this website?

I know any "well-written" story will do well, but it's common knowledge that with some genres, it's easier for your fiction to be successful on this website. So I was how it is for vampire stories

What pebble said. People like vampires, and they are often in stories that aren't even about them. They just usually don't take the center stage. When they do get popularity it is not because of the "Vampire" tags usually. It is mostly due to other tags. Take the most popular vampire story on the site for example. It is GB. I had a vampire story that was decently popular, but I don't think it was due to "vampire". It had loyal subordinates, and was kind of similar to Overlord. It was technically GB, but it had zero effect on the story. I could have easily made a story with a demon as the MC, and it would probably see similar results.

TLDR: "Vampire" doesn't really do much to boost a story.

Female Protagonist seems to be more trending now.
Write a female vampire protagonist.

all the ones I have stumbled upon untimely ends with *NSFW* things with girls .. like an girl turned boy goes for girls.. an boy turned girl also goes for girls.. like what have guy's done to deserve this.. !! this is an controversy i say ..

It's hit or miss with GB stories. There are more awkward stories where the MC's sex plays a little role in things, to ones like Dissonant, which I believe to be the best SH exclusive story I've read, BottledChoas' Hopping Celestial Fox, ChiriVulpes' stories, etc.

As a connoisseur of yuri, I have no issues with the yuri part, but smut remains off limits to me.

if i be perfectly honest .. i like everything but sometimes in some cases in an story i dont like some scenarios .. i don't know how to simplify it but sometimes i like gb and with everything it has to offer .. but sometimes some stories i just dont .. complicated really..
it can be that i just dont like the sequence the things happened.. or things mc done i dont like .. or the story in background doesn't sit well with me .. who knows .. i really cant define it properly..

Vampire is kinda on the down low these days. Everybody know the drill, they're OP bloodsucker, but nerfed heavily or instantly killed by the sun, silver, holy water, and onion. Not to mention UV rays which is imitation of Sun rays.

Nowadays we have seen hundreds of long living powerful beings such as dragon, demon, Demi Human, Demi God, Werewolf, Elf, Spirits, Orc, and such that are powerful and can stand by during the daytime. They don't have apparent weakness other than scarce population and more powerful enemies.

In comparison to them, Vampire Is more similar to Human-Bat demihuman.

Not to mention the existence of Human with capabilities of Wizard, Witch, Magician, Magus, Occultist, Knight, Holy Knight, etc.which were qualified to fighting them, and these days those powerful humans already fighting among themselves as those beings were all human with powerful toys. And human meet human equal conflict in the end.

Vampire that are strong yet contain so much weakness and limitations is not that interesting. Usually some author choose to remove all the weakness and the bloodsucking trait, making them another "Beautiful/Handsome Human" with monster abilities.

So please avoid Twilight-like stories, we have hundreds of those fanfic running around.

Realistically, if you write something like Vampire LitRPG which include [Vampire System] which make the [Host] experience the live of vamprie tricking human to suck their blood while Looking for potential followers and slaves, maybe we will read (?) If you put interesting title, cover, and description.

Or just write "Reincarnated to AliceShiki Dating Simulator with Villain System [LitRPG] [Survival]" and call it a day.

It really depends on how good the implementation tho.
