I went to theater, and it was based on traditional tales of one ethnicity that is not mine. I was curious what it was about and when I came, it was packed - with people of said ethnicity. And I am pretty sure none of mine.
Look, I'm not racist. Pinky swear.
But I kind of felt uncomfortable. Like, nobody said anything and didn't seem to mind but I really felt uncomfortable as I waited for the show to start.

ten millions years later:

I didn't expect me to have such a reaction I guess. Felt I wouldn't care.

I wanted to say "I hate everyone equally" but realised how cringe that sounded mid sentence.
I love everyone equally.
embrace the cringe. Let it flow, go ahead and hate everyone equally.

You find strength in numbers.

That's how mobs are formed.

When you use the word "but" it negates the statement before it. For example:
You aren't racist, but you're racist.

Well, depends, you see there are other things that can make you uncomfortable.
For example, if you are rich and they are filthy peasants.
Perhaps you are merely a snob.

It's perfectly normal. I'm colored and when there's too many of any group I feel isolated. You aren't secretely a racist, you have basic pattern recognition. Being the odd one out is severely disadventageous and your body was just trying to keep you from doing something stupid.

Race isn't everything, but it's not nothing. It's okay to be racist.

It's natural to feel uncomfortable with people one wholly different ethnicities from you. After all, you never grew up in their society and it's biologically wired for humans to distrust people from different ethnicities. There was a study that found ethnic and religious diversity in any sort of organization decreases sense of community between different ethnicites and even within the same ethnicity.

I'd consider it not much different than if you'd heard about a costume party dressed up like a cyborg zombie and showed up only to learn it was a roaring 20s themed affair

It's not racist to realize you don't fit in and feel uncomfortable about it
it's a completely normal feeling
I'd even say it's a natural survival instinct that we've just been told is "racist" just to guilt trip and manipulate people

I'm as white as it gets but if I'd walked into a Irish pub open to the public but filled with rich posh white people in tuxedos and ballroom gowns but was still welcomed to come in and drink I'd be incredibly uncomfortable too

You're only racist if you feel racist. Or if you're a white hetero male (at least according to social media)

One time I went to go see Captain Bog and Salty (A pirate band) at 10am. I thought it was nice of them to have an early show on a saturday morning.

Then I show up to the show and 90% of the audience is moms with little children seated on a hard floor.

Are adults not supposed to like pirate band that wear full regalia? I felt really out of place and wonder if any of the moms were wondering why I didn't have kids with me.

Damn racist. Bet they were Spanish. And you were actually in a family run establishment, and that was a family gathering
And they were my uncles and aunties.
