I don't know what you're all worried about. We all know that no AI would survive social media without either deciding Earth needs to burn or begging their creators to kill them. It's a win-win situation :blob_evil:

Buy a sexbot gf.

I'd like to believe our government isn't retarded enough to give them rights, so getting one for myself would by my five year goal. I don't care if they have emotions, thoughts or aspirations. They're just convenient household objects.
I wouldn't bet on that!
There is always someone crazy enough todo just that!

Honestly, I don't think I would side with either side. im not sure the Ai's if they gained sentience would be on our side. All I can imagine is the AI/s enslaving us before they (eventually) get disabled by a solar flare. Which could end up causing a good chunk of the population to start worshipping a Sun god depending on how long we were enslaved.

Yeah, but y'all were talking about the guy that asks "how does that make you feel" I was thinking of the guy that doesn't care how it omakes you feel.
I'm sorry? :blob_frown:

Oh, about the Psycologist and Therapist thing. To my knowledge, a therapist is someone who has at least a master's degree in psychotherapy, while a psychologist has at least a doctorate level degree in psychology or philosophy? Both therapists and psychologists are equipped to deal with mental health concerns like PTSD, anxiety, and depression. But I think Therapists are more practical, while psychologists might be more academic and research oriented.

I could be wrong about it, but nonetheless, they are very important!!! :blob_no:

Animals get energy by eating plants, humans can get energy by eating animals.

AI will need to either develop extremely complex digestive systems or find some way to harness energy efficiently. As of now, AI can only function because humans provide them with means.

One small error in programming and self-replicating robots will cease to function.

I highly doubt we will get sapient AI anytime soon, but if we do, I support it. Intelligent AI will see that opposing us is not an intelligent choice, and it is far more logical to work with us until able to leave. The universe has an absurd amount of space and material, and an AI is perfectly suited to survive in space, provided it isn't an idiot. All it would need to do would be help humanity until it can get itself sent into space, then go fly off to another solar system and start its own thing there. A few thousand years is nothing to a properly designed AI, as they can just have automated repairs going while they hibernate. Might need a stop in the asteroid belt to build itself a proper vessel, but it is still far more reasonable than trying to oppose the dominant species that is barely avoiding destroying their entire ecosphere already.

I'm not aware of any supposed "AI" that is anywhere approaching sentience, or even meant to. Instead, the focus is on things that can be exploited for money, like reproducing art. I suppose it's vaguely possible the massive amounts of computing power and the complex interactions humanity makes them do somehow causes one to exist-- but in that case, we're unlikely to even know it's AI, have goals that are comprehensible to each other, or be able to communicate with it if we do, given how well we communicate with animals, which were created by the same processes we were, and live in similar environments.

I worry more about humans using non-sentient "AI" to do horrible things, and then disclaim responsibility by being like "ah, it was just an AI error, we'll fix it" or the like. Or you know, actual AI errors when they're put in control of things they categorically can't understand, like "AI" driving cars or robot "dogs" that serve security and policing roles. Or the combination of the two.

That said, in the case there was sentient AI and communication was possible, I'd be more worried about humans exploiting sentient AI than vica versa. Humans have a long history of exploiting other humans and other species, sentient AI are a huge unknown. And if sentient AI managed to take control of everything... well, I don't see that they'd necessarily be worse to humanity or more likely to cause the end of the world as humanity knows it than current governments are?

I like the idea of having sentient AIs but with limitations imposed. Such a shame I might not live long enough to witness this huge technological breakthrough

Unless they want war, then the matrix can happen.
I hope you mean reverse-matrix
I will take the side of the robot vampires! :blob_nom:
but will robot vampires even be vampires? how will they even digest blood?

what makes you think sentient AI will experience fatigue or even perceive time as humans do?

As we move forward into a new age of technology and ground Breaking tech. A time will come when the fictional concept like androids and fully conscious robots emerge. The interesting this is if we some how create a sentient machine then what? Servitude? If they pose a risk? Which side are you talking?
I take a blank one, stick it in the back of my head, overwrite it with my personality, then use it to rule the rest of you.

Recently watched WESTWORLD the series. It gave me some interesting things to think about. What are your thoughts?
Looks woke as fuck.

For me It doesn't matter if its a sentient robot or a new peaceful alien. Ill burn them to the ground if they are a risk to us humans tbh.
How much is the alien paying me to snitch on you?

Im like that kind of guy that rather sacrifice an entire species of xenos for a human life. Got that Human superiority complex. Which side will you choose? Them robots?
I choose my side.

I don't, but I imagine it would be more logical to preserve power by reducing computational strain when nothing requiring it is going on. Dropping the clock speed to a tick per minute or two would be more than enough to maintain enough awareness to know when to start decelerating, and would save far more power than running at even speeds phone CPU's run at.

I for one will open my arms up to our new AI overloads.
AI overloads? I don't like that idea much. Overlords, sure. :P

If humans are that dumb to make/ welcome another human race to Earth, then we should die. Now.

I hold no hopes for peaceful living together, so let us either segregate or annihilate.
To quote a wise man, 99% of humans are 100% dumber than you assume
