Any of you wanna see Mistborn trilogy movie adaptations? I've heard Brando Sando's been writing screenplays. Any news so far?
Mistborn is easier to read, for sure. Stormlight has a steeper learning curve for the world building and stuff. It's a massive world for an epic fantasy. Not a good recommendation for a beginner. I started with Mistborn. It's a trilogy, but I'm already used to long-running serials, so this is no problem for me. It's one of his better series. Check it out.Done 4 run ups to stormlight archive, still not managed to get into it. always stop after 3,4 chapters
Just not my cup of tea.
Is mistborn better?
Another great ruined by unoriginal screenwriters and the Church of Blue Haired Woke
I liked the Mistborn series, however everything Hollywood touches a book series in the past decade they've ruined it i.e. Wheel of Time.Um... okay. Not sure how you'd go about adapting a book where plantation owners beat their slaves to death, but whatever.

Animation would be wayyyy cooler, in my opinion, and with less risk as well. Epic fantasy is very expensive when it comes to live action.I'm reading the first book right now actually. Seems like something that would make a good series to me, maybe a Netflix or HBO adaptation. Interesting world, logical magic system, interesting characters. With one of the major themes being, "Slavery is bad actually" I think I would do well.
The author himself is writing his own screenplay, though. Most adaptations suck and don't even bother being true to their source material nowadays.
Agreed. I think animation is better. Heck, anime, if possible! The cost is lower, so less risk as well. But he doesn't wanna do it, I think, because animation in Hollywood is kinda treated as kid's entertainment.I kinda don't care a out any of this, guys...
Is that bad?
Sanderson's books seemed fun from the little I read, but I think they're a little too out there for live action. Some would need so much CGI, it'd look likeanimatedlive action Lion King.
That said, I don't have much faith in Hollywood. They haven't exactly been great for the last few years.
Does anyone remember that whole thread a while ago about trying to "standardize entertainment"?
They try to make everything "not bad" by making it look all the same.
They try to make it be fun by being "inclusive", "progressive", and generic as hell, thus not actually including anyone and boring eveyone.
It's all very difficult to enjoy for me.
Wow! Been a long time since I saw someone's hopes and dreams crushed in real time. I look forward to seeing his creation raped before his very eyes with much anticipation! The author himself is writing his own screenplay, though
