Maybe this is an obvious suggestion, but since it hasn't been mentioned yet: Have you tried looking on Royal Road? I don't know if the quality is really much better (especially since a lot of people post on both sites), but different kinds of books are more popular there, so it might be easier to find things that suit your tastes.
Royal road is far too laggy for me for some reason

Reading novels isn't fun anymore at least for me. Notably, I've been noticing that there has been a large decline in the quality of novels posted on scribble hub following the collapse of Webnovels. And while the oversaturation of former WNs authors coming here and posting their often shitty fanfics here is a large part of why I have given up novels, I have been giving up on novels even prior to that. Since the Summer of last year, I have given up on reading novels in their entirety and I'd say that orientation towards not reading novels is possibly a me thing with an ever-changing mindset however it would more so be an accumulation of various factors if anything when accounting for realism. Currently, I am attempting to pick up reading novels again to try and re-spark my love for writing however I need several recommendations and some advice from yours truly.

I was also going to say, if you want recommendations, it might help to specify what genres you like reading. There are a whole lot of books out there in the world, y'know?

Well not gonna lie webnovel sucks A LOT. Quite a few readers have been stopped from reading online and instead is asked to download the app to continue reading. 2nd of all, the main themes of Webnovel is repetitive as hell, either harem/ecchi/smut/romance/adventure. There’s no market for your classical novels without stupid systems and your average dude from becoming the overlord of the world or some shit. The only few good gold from web novel is ’Under the oak tree’, ‘Gene evolution‘ and ‘Warlock of the Magus World’. Rest are trash, full of sex and no good plot. Also I’ve seen many new novels are a lot of them are weird! Like plain weird! Their titles are so long and attention grabbing, and then synopsis and plot disappoints so much.

Which doesn't preclude the possibility of finding a good one if you were so inclined. Oh well! ?‍♀️

Anyway, good luck with your project.

Go to Royal Road. It's a lot better there. Far less smut (there still is smut, but not as much) and it isn't utterly swamped by WebNovelists. As writing places go, it's quite nice. I actually expanded from there into here. It was the stories on there that encouraged me to write.
There's a general decline in all of entertainment media, tho. For movies we have Star Was: The Rise of Mary Sue Skywalkingovereveryone, Marvels Apendages, DCs New Refurbished Innovated Justice League Reloaded 2.0, Onions made out of glass, Goth loli turning highschool musical and the hardcore feminist bastard child of a good childrens show that raped, killed and everyone's favorite dog...

Books (the real ones fare a bit better) but even there we have a slow decline to YA levels of writing and about as much vampire smut as we have GB harem here on smut hub.

And don't even get me started on games, tho...
Quite honestly, Velma (which I'm assuming is the "bastard" you are talking about) is not actually hardcore feminism. It's a caricature of liberal ideals to the point of ridiculousness. I am rather extreme in my liberalism. That... that was just a parody of actual feminism and other beliefs.
The other stuff though, yeah that's pretty accurate...
...
Except for Beetlejuice. That's great. Fight me.
u can read a normal book for once too a friend of mine told me to read mistborn series already read 1 and 2 and the start of 3... he said second trilogy is far bettter but vin the mc of first trilogy managed to make me quit xD
Oh hey! My friend just started that book series. He said it was pretty great.

I'm also an author, and I have a few readers because my books did not receive good recommendations on the platform. I was very sad about this, and have thought of giving up writing. But I like writing and I don't want to give up, so I listened to Rick. He's never gonna give me up, never gonna let me down. Never gonna run around and desert me.
