I've read a lot of different shounen manga; award-winning, garbage, new, old, and so on. I understand that this manga isn't that good. I dislike the second half a lot, and I've read a lot of objectively better shounen manga, yet Toriko is still my favorite. I can't explain why, Shokugeki no Souma exists, so I can't say that it's because I'm a foodie\like to eat. I just like it the most. What about you all? What is your favorite shounen manga, and can you explain why?

Not sure about shonen, but out of mangas I like. Usogui. Ravages of Time. Feng Shen Ji. These three are my current favorites. I mean, we have smart Lu Bu and Dong Zhuo in the Ravages of Time, and their plans are actually really solid! Feng Shen Ji is just a treat. You have a villainous Kratos-like figure who is the main bad guy and who actually walks the road when his wife asks him to do something. Tian is simply amazingly badass as a villain and is such a wall that he beats pretty much everyone, but the author still made it into a cool story.

Tegami Bachi (Letter Bee)

I also just remembered.

Parallel Paradise. If you want smut with your shounen story. There is no blue balling in here. (and weirdly it debuted in Kodansha's Weekly Young Magazine... but it is hardcore smut)

Vinland Saga, Berserk, or One Punch Man mainly because of the art and the amazing stories.

Feng Shen Ji is one of my favorites. However, none of the titles you named are Shounen, and two of them are Manhua.

Then Neuro: Supernatural Detective, manga version. Anime adaptation is weird. You have an Ainz-like character who is seemingly going to stomp out any and all opposition... Until you face said opposition. The true main bad guys are beyond evil in what they do, I am not sure how this manga stayed shonen with all the shit the bad guys did in the later arcs. You have bio weapons, sentient AI, and interesting puzzles about crimes. Also, the way the secondary MC learns to stand up to Neuro is rather cool, and the manga shows what happens to those who walk the path of revenge rather well.

No one is going to mention bleach or kimustu no yaiba? Full metal panic? Full metal alchemist?

Ranma 1/2 is a fun one too. I liked it better than inuyasha because it doesn't feel like the plot is stuck.
Sora no Otoshimono was good too at least at first... it gets kinda weird.
Did kore wa zombie desu ka have a manga? That one was a favorite as well.

Samurai Champloo is one of those classics too.

You mentioned a bunch of titles but you didn't say which one is your personal favorite.

Wrf is a shounen?
Shōnen manga (少年漫画, lit. "boys' comics", also romanized as shonen, shounen or syônen) is an editorial category of Japanese comics targeting an audience of adolescent boys.

Shōnen manga
Shōnen manga refers to manga aimed at an audience of adolescent boys, with the primary target audience alternately defined as 9 to 18 years old[5] and as 12 to 18 years old.[6] Of the four primary demographic categories of manga (shōnen, shōjo, seinen, and josei), it is the most popular category in the Japanese market.[7][8]

I... read everything that comes out from shonen jump and and shonen magazine... along with the stuff from whatever magazine adapts the isekai light novels.
Sailus, I'll support your like of toriko though! To it's credit, the gourmet world part was a victim of toriko no longer being popular and getting axed.
The stuff before that, with the spice meteor and all the crazy stuff that went down was epic. Toriko was needed at the time. Manga needed manly men again XD.

As for my favorite. Hard to say. One Piece has emotional value because I made a best friend through our shared like of it.

Kimetsu no yaiba(Demon slayer)- I love the animationand the fight scenes are just legit
Fire force(en en shoubutai)- the fight scenes are also legit and I love the comedy. It's also the first shounen I read with quite a happy ending.

And Naruto of course-I can't forget it since it was my first shounen. I loved the storyline, the characters, the strategies and the fight scenes. Most characters were just relatable.

Lol ? now that I think about it, I think I have an obsession for fight scenes in manga and animes.

It might be a bit dated now,

But Mirai Nikki and death note are pretty high on my list in the shounen genre

I want to say i like Fullmetal Alchemist but I like the anime way more than the manga..

Then I remembered I never finished the last arc of Gintama because I liked it so much.

I like the blend of irreverent comedy and sentimental melodrama. I didn't finish it because I like the idea that it never ended and the characters are still having adventures.

May be I'll finish it one day.

In my opinion, the second part of Toriko got way too convoluted, and it was completely unnecessary. I doubt that the reason behind it was Toriko getting axed, as the second part lasted for 100+ chapters. Though I could be wrong, perhaps getting axed is the reason behind the drastic changes that I didn't like. Oh, and the redesign of Komatsu also sucked.

Okay, so this requires observing how shonen jump operates with their long running series. But for things like Black Clover, Bleach and Toriko, it isn't strange for their final arcs to take two years to finish. Shokugeki no Soma also showed an interesting case where you could tell exactly when the team was told their series had to be done by, because the author's style drastically changed.

For Toriko, in order to get the best guess as to when a fatal decision was made, You got to look at the way Air and then the Fish dish were handled. Those were two very long arcs, but then, the other ingredients don't get the same amount of screentime. That's the moment when the author was most likely told there was an end date. If you track back publication data, you might also be able to see a dip in volume sales around that time.

So a very violent porn hub made into a comic.
Got it.

I would say... huh... uhh.... I dunno. The one with the thing? The guy who gets super powers and is beloved by all while getting a harem?

You know... He starts off being a loser, saves someone from getting hit by a truck, gets hit instead, is rewarded with cheat powers, Saves a princess or passing merchant from a pack of wolves, uses the LitRRPG system to level up, goes to an adventurers guild and gets laughed at and harassed by some adventurer who's evil, then the evil adventurer gets kicked out, jumps the MC later and then gets his ass handed to him by the MC who is really nice, Usually he gets convinced to buy a slave who he drools over but eventually she has sex with him and in short order he has a harem of fuck buddies but it's okay that he has sex slaves because he's really nice and they said they wanted to fuck him so it's not like there was any coercion involved despite the fact they have a SLAVE COLLAR AROUND THEIR NECK AND THEY ARE BOUND TO SERVE WITH MAGIC.

THAT ONE.

THAT DOESN'T PISS ME OFF AT ALL AND MAKE ME WANT TO SET THE MC ON FIRE BECAUSE I CANNOT THINK OF SOMETHING MORE HORRIFIC THAN BEING STRIPPED OF YOUR FREE WILL.
