Is there a multiple personality Isekai? as in the original personality had trauma, poisoning or a summoning gone wrong - giving damage to to the soul to a point where the body hosts another soul to survive and yet the original soul remains and did exert their will, especially in moments where the original soul has very strong feelings on the topic or situation as it happens?

It really depends on the AUDIENCE.

Do you write Romance story with the usual broad chest ikemen for romance thirsty female ?

Action thrill with fights and battle of chunibyou warrior for young boys ?

Rom Com with comedy for mainstream people that love normal romance story ?

Mindless Harem with big booby whore aunties for desperate NEET man ?

Boys Love with Broad chest man with Korean hairstyles that doesn't fit the era but satisfying for Fujoshi ?

Or Girls Love story with Queer, Futa, Pegged man, and other forced LGHDTV+ propaganda that doesn't reflect the moral values of medieval world and the world the character reincarnated, but it satisfy the whole community of Scribble Hub because they feel "represented" (even tho the correct term is "Self-Inserted") ?

Maybe a story for blatant male that wanted to be converted to women via death and become girls love because they reject natural hormon and go full lesbian without thought ? Or maybe a Male inside Female that date with male from another world and became hidden gay couple that only themselves know ?

Well, I'm rather lazy to answer your question. Sorry for that. But those thing above where the usual cliches that appear in the "reincarnated as...." Stories.

Please make sure your story has depth in character. Or just make them have "likeable" personality and solve problem the "adult" way, no matter if the conflict can realistically be solved by "modern adult discussion" or not.

Just ignore the logic that people of medieval will be angry and ignore our modern world style of solving problem as "heretic" and "unorthodox".

Also don't make the character look weak and indecisive. Readers don't really care of characters have feeling and moment of lapse. They want a strong and handsome knight that act like gentlemen, with a twist that he has sickness with women, so that our Self Insert women (or man, if it's Boys love) can cure him with power of feelings and romance.

Make sure the romance is hidden and open ending, so you can always make more episode containing more and more fluff 'fan-service' flirting than actual couples (or gay couple) who have been married for a long time.

Okay. Sorry again for rambling and venting my frustrations with 379 words instead of actually answer your question.

Reincarnated as a sentry turret in a dungeon.

I don't know whether growth will really matter when it comes to turrets. But the turret can evolve into anything turret related, including a CIWS when needed. All the ammunition is magically stored in a pocket dimension in which the mc can access at anytime.

I've got to wonder with the handful of people answering automata what their thoughts are about cyborgs and the use of bionics and those sorts of character types, since in some cases those characters would end up with a more physical growing up than just a mental 'learning about the world'.

Couple questions I'm curious about people's oppinions/preferences for.

1) If you had your choice of what race you'd want to see the MC reincarnated as, what would it be and why?

2) Would you rather see the MC reincarnated into a fully grown body or as a newborn baby?

3) If you answered 'newborn' to #2: would you want a story that skips the "newborn" years and goes straight to teenage or adult age or would you rather the story take it slow through the MC's early years?

1: Ideally, reincarnate into an adult of whatever the dominant species is.

2: Fully grown, because children and babies have such little agency any stories about them are limited. I also think it would be more interesting to contrast how childhood in different cultures affects the personality of a character.

The amount of great pain and mental anguish I would feel if, as an adventurer who would likely be a magic-type or light fighter type, I were to stumble upon a fucking CIWS minigun turret in a dungeon.

I would cry, scream, and leave. Fuck that noise.

1: whatever is the most original while still making sense and being socially (un)acceptable. Unless you're writing a grimdark edge story or pure wish fullfilment there's no need to make your MC universally hated by the core inhabitants of your main region. Make them disliked at worst. And no sun-tanned vampire gods of healing and life or zombie exorzists just because the idea sounds cool but doesn't make any sense.

2+3: From birth on, but only to infodump the worldbuilding at the beginning and give us just enough of a picture of MCs personality and his background. Maybe one key moment every few years is enough so that MC is a kid for 3-5 chapters at most. I've read stories where the MC was a baby for hundreds of chapters only to just timeskip ten years for no reason.
I also absolutely loathe the "I'mma herpderpmit from Far Far Away, everybody I know is too far away and I had no human contact for millenia" trope most adult body isekais throw at you. That excuse makes absolutely no sense.

1. Reincarnated as one of the "undesirable" races- Goblin, Orc, or maybe as a race that's looked down upon in that specific world, like a Beastkin. Would like to see said MC be subject to a lot of segregation issues and be forced to struggle with those problems all the while trying to better himself as a fighter.

2. Depends. If he sort of "spawns" in the wild and goes from there, it would be fine. Bypasses a lot of the youth BS. But, if the author wants to really hammer in on the inequality that the MC will soon face and show the Reader the truly shitty situation the MC is about to deal with for the duration of the story, then newborn please.

3. Again, would like the slow progression. BUT, not so slow as to go year by year. Mushoku Tensei style would work. Sort of jumping through "checkpoints" and focusing on key events would definitely be fine. It's not the newborn aspect itself that I would want. It's more the establishment that the MC has lived through the terrible events and has personally experienced the racism/hate against his Race, his family, his people, etc.
Gotta say, the best goblin reincarnation I've ever seen is in "I'm a spider so what?" One of the characters gets reborn as a goblin. Over the course of his formative years he comes to like the simple life of living in a goblin tribe. Eventually, his isekai power shows as he becomes able to create enchanted weapons. Human adventurer's kill one of the goblins and word gets out that there are goblins with magic weapons . . . I won't spoil the rest.

I've been tempted to pick up that Series. I've heard it's a lot of fun and has quite a number of interesting characters. Guess I'll add it to the list.

It starts out really good, but the last view volumes have been side character point of view filler. It is one of those stories I have a love/hate relationship with. Also, the anime does a terrible job of portraying white later on. A character that can kill dragons but struggles to form a complete sentence is hard to do justice to in an anime.

Now imagine the MC being placed around or inside the Demon Lord's castle, the hero's party may never be able to save the world.
