Well, if you're looking specifically for Cannibalism, I can't help you here. If you're looking for what the threat title says though, a story in which the MC is reincarnated into a very different culture, I'd say "The Rincarnation of Alysara" does an excellent job. That thing's got a hermaphrodite culture that practices open bathing and is tribal in nature. It's pretty fun.

I don't quite do as good a job as Alysara in terms of portraying a vastly different culture, but I'd pitch my own series, Key to the Void (link in signature) for this as well. My elves keep humans as pets so they can suck the energy from them. The MC is reborn as an elf. 2 other reincarnated people are reincarnated as humans. MC's parents captured these other two and gave them to the MC.

As for how that plays out... well... it's not that my character doesn't go all energy vampire on them... it's just that she found a far tastier source of energy so she doesn't have to eat her friends.

... Ok, I guess somehow my series sorta does answer your criteria. It's just that my MC cheats her way out of it.

The thing is, I have a cat sleeping on my legs right now, and I find myself wondering, if I was the only human in a world of self-aware cats, sort of like at the dark ages level of technology, wouldn't I appear as a giant? Just getting around the language barrier would be interesting, but then you got dogs who are more yap yap tea cup poodles up to newfoundlands which are HUGE, so while you are a "giant" to cats, you are a walk in the park to a doberman. Sort of like Planet of the apes, except more purring.

You seem to have a very strange definition of the world "culture" if you don't think elves who live in trees are very different from humans who live in houses. I actually have had an anthropology course and have based each of the cultures in my world on various structures seen around the world, vastly different in social structures and other such things.

I do rate Reincarnation of Alysara as better than mine because the culture of those hermaphroditic fox people who valued art was incredibly in-depth to a level that far surpassed any single culture I crafted, but most of what mine lacks is depth, they're still quite different from anything like what we see in the western world.

I think they meant that it does not count as 'taking on' a culture if the character rejects the culture and cheats their way out.
