Ok so, I am not new as an author, my novel is about 7 months old
My views and reader rate has slowed down considerably and I want to know is there any way to get more attraction, keep the retention without having to go to threads and chats to advertise my novel? And also without having to post 50 chapters a week?

Your story already has the fox girl of questionable age.
Excellent, you got the basics.
Now you only need better artwork of scantily clad fox girl on cover.

As a newcomer here, I can only share my own experience. my best guess is to post daily. I am lucky that I have a finished book to edit/post daily.

It picked up growth, better than I expected. I tried posting in different time zones, aiming at US time zones instead of my EU location.

Did not see significant changes in daily influx of readers, but that is also true I only tried it for a few days. But all in all it has been growing steadily. And I attribute that to the daily chapters.

My current story, that I am actively working on, has not even 1/10 of the same views and being half of the chapters / week than the finished one.

So my guess is to post daily and you will find tracktion. Which is not easy, but don’t give up!

Maybe not post on full hours.? The longer you can avoid a chapter rush (many post at :00 times) the longer yours stay visible. You also have a good chance to get a trending if you can incite comments or a discussion. Well, and naturally the story has to be interesting to draw attention.

Easy way: Get a shiny new cover.

Hard way: Update daily and respond to every comment.
GAHAH ! (puke blood)

HVG was faster than me. Damnit..... T_T

But yes OP, listen to him.

1) Cover
2) Summary

3) Theme
4) Quality
5) Regular updates
6) nsfw
7) interactions with comments
#) Studying the market of what attract current readers

Random fact. Even someone that don't want to try a certain novel, have a high chance to try it when seeing the same (easy to recognize) novel popping often in updates.
AND/OR having like 500+ chapters.

Curiosity killed the cat, and can be a deadly psychological weapon.

Try looking at my previous SH-forum posts. I gave very long explanations (twice or 3 times recently ?) about how to attract readers.

Well, you have 4 options.

1. Chap tricks. This is the sort of thing everyone has been recommending so far.
2. Throw money at it. In other words, buy advertisements.
3. Get gud. This would be just becoming better at writing and making something that's actually worth the views.
4. Exploit the system. Most of the exploits on SH have been closed, so you are going to want to find a newer site if you want to use this one.

My personal recommendation is to just use option #3 and consider your current story a practice run. I've taken a peek over at it, and honestly, there are several points that are lacking. The title has nothing interesting to it, your synopsis seems like you are being edgy just for the sake of being edgy, the cover reeks of Chunibyo, and your opening paragraph in chapter 1 lacks a strong hook.

Paragraph 1 sentence 1 of your series is live or die for the entire work, and you spent it talking about pastel shades of blue. There's absolutely nothing interesting in talking about the color blue.

It's a good effort to learn the lay of the land in the writing world, but I'm afraid this story doesn't really have much of a future in the long-run. I would encourage you to continue it anyway, just for the sake of gaining some experience. I had been writing for 8 years before I even started posting publicly. During that entire time, I was learning. Even still, once I started posting publicly, I noticed my writing ability increase several times faster than during my 8 years of practice.

Just keep at it and keep your schedule consistent. You will get better eventually. Once you do improve your skills, start over with a new series once you're able to better apply your writing skills.

Just like what HappyVainGlory sir said here most people from this site and other sites prefer having daily updates but it can be resolved if your novel is indeed very interesting or you got a designated chapter update.

Anecdote/fact.

There is a chinese author that had 4-5 novels until he finally wrote a high quality one that was ranked n°1 in qidian for a long while.
To be honest, this particular novel at it's period, somehow elevated the threshold quality of the genre (entertainment = singer/director/etc) like a phoenix among chickens. Sadly no clue what happened but a certain point the quality dropped.

Ask yourself the question. Do you write for yourself, popularity, money, or simply find people to talk to in comments that can appreciate your series?

Because like one favorite author of mine said : "The quality of readers of nowadays dropped very much. Now they can drop a series for any reason. You can't even write anymore the hero or heroine not being handsome/beautiful and some topics are taboos. Some old masterpieces would flop if they were published today"

Indeed.
I got a novel as example.

This novel in particular had a crazy op idea, that attracted decent amount popularity.
Especially as the main idea was "What if someone as trolling as Aqua got her body and was smart ?" = TOO ENJOYABLE
+ and genius idea to combo to appear in "Fate Stay Night" hence plot of spoiling plot to people (in trolling way)
+ nsfw yuri with Rin

Sadly the (female) author dropped it and go creating another series that have lower attractivity and popularity.

PS : Aqua can be attractive if konosuba's author stopped using her as comedy-relief character + slight better attitude
