How do you write?

I always had writer’s block, but that doesn’t always stop me.
For me to continue writing is basically like what the first few commenters spoke about.
“just do it!”
Though I might be the one to not talk I have this big imagination from my dreams in addition to having inspiration from many places like video games, novels, movies, and series of shows, anime, or comics (Of any kind really like manhwa or manga)
I also get ideas from people role-playing real life or not (Like DreamSMP)
After all those things come to you, you can’t help but imagine many things of your own and how you like to change things from where people don’t expect.
Every writer has their own trail of thoughts and taste which is why when I read people’s work, I can’t help but admire and think of my own...
However, I always keep a plot in my notes so I can’t lose myself and my readers and try to connect it as much as I want that makes sense.
Sometimes it confuses my readers due to my love for connecting my novels that I make together to make them interesting and have my readers solve the missing puzzles as they find while reading the books that are connected, living in the same world yet different continents.

Taking a shower or a long bathroom break might also help kickstart your thoughts.

That aside, you may want to try keeping a log of random ideas you have when you don't have time to write (maybe on your phone, or whatever else you can use as an instant notepad). That way when you have a writer's block, you have something to look at for inspiration--if not for whatever you're writing at the time, then at least to get you writing something.

But yeah, sometimes you just need to sit down and start clacking at your keyboard or moving your pen. Maybe start with telling yourself, "I'll just write a sentence." And then see if anything follows. If so, great. If not, at least you got into the practice of writing something when you sat down.

Oh, I recently found something else to inspire me.

This right here.

Just think about those people writing songs that voices never shared, then listen to that "silence like a cancer grows" line and the desperation in the song's tone at that point as it sounds so pained that it's unable to share the speaker's words with somebody. Feel that frustration, and let it inspire you to put your voice into the world in the form of your writing.

There really is a mysterious power to those lines, and I've recently taken to listening to this song before my writing sessions in order to hype myself up.

EDIT: If you want to get an even stronger kick out of this, put this in your mind. One powerful interpretation of this song is that the "silence" talked about in this song is actually censorship, and the later parts of the song are about defiance against that censorship. That's helpful. Now, to push it a step farther. Think about your own writing as something that's on the banned list, and put it in your mind that you are writing it anyway in defiance of the censorship. True or not, this can light a fire in you to push your words into the world.

Just put it in your mind as you listen to this song. The world hates you for your words. But you are going to stand in defiance of the world and speak them anyway. That's the defiant spirit you're going to need anyway in order to survive in the writing world, so you might as well create this fantasy for yourself in order to get yourself fired up anyway. Tell yourself to expect it to be an up-hill battle, and you will be doing yourself a huge favor. Not only will it temper that defiant spirit, it will also prepare you for the inevitable hardships that come naturally with the field of writing.

Just edited in a further aspect to the mind-set that gives me inspiration from the song. Might want to give that a look before judging.

no, my stance remains. if you think I'm passing some sort of judgement, that isn't the case. I just think the contrast between gaining motivation from a song to imagine yourself acting out of spite against an opposing status quo hellbent on silencing the masses and watching call of duty frag clips with your brain turned off before writing is quite the hilarious dynamic to point out.

Yeah, it is a little bit of a funny dichotomy. Especially considering neither one of our methods are really what the typical person would consider typical.

I cannot bring myself to sit down and write a chapter for my story i quite literally do the "it came to me in a dream" method of just Dreaming it and frantically get my phone and write a 500 word chapter

also i thought the title Would be Funny tbh
1. I start with a chapter name because that's literally how my brain will work.
2. I listen to music that fits the atmosphere of the chapter.
3. I write two chapters a day (maybe one on a bad day.) I try to aim for at least 1400 or more words, but if I can only write like 800 then I stop for a couple of hours then start again after my brain settles.

I don't outline because it sucks the fun out of writing, and even I like a little surprises here and there.

How do I write? Let me count the ways.
Usually on t he computer... sometimes with paper and a pen. Yeah, I know, kind of old fashioned.
But I don't think that's what you meant...?

I usually daydream a lot walking three dogs in the morning.
And I talk to myself a lot. (Yes, I'm quite sane).
I do the old What would [name of character] do in this situation?
