Yeah, I tried that, but all that pops up is people with tattoo's or Issei form Highschool DxD. I'm not all that knowledgable on how people find their stuff, and if I could draw, that'd be the first thing I'd do, but as of right now, the only thing I can do is hope someone else has an answer for me.
What's your idea about your cover?
Trace it. Procreate is a good software if you own an ipad, and you can get a stylus for cheap. You can also do it on your phone but it's harder. I think the software even has a scale texture brush preinstalled
Basically, its just referencing the powers of my two main characters. One has the power of a dragon and the other has powers of rocks, to put it simply, and since they're friends, the symbols of their powers cross. The mountain in the background is also the most important place of the story.
Don't have an ipad sadly, and me drawing with a mouse is a no go. I've tried. It doesn't work.
Man, that's a very specific need. When it comes to getting free art of microstock, its best not to get married to a cover design. Trust me, lol. But in my experience, you get what you pay for. There's free images, then there's paid miscrostock, and then there's commissioned art. I've never commissioned art so up to this point all of my covers have been designed by myself using free images or very cheap microstock. Dreamstime and Shutterstock can be useful, because they're cheap.
I admit, I do this some times for very minor things, but I try not to. I mean, are those even free use?
If I may be honest with you, the cover's kind of...err...underwhelming. If you'll permit me to suggest, I recommend that instead of using a place for background, how about a plain dark one, and make the 'symbols' glow in the dark? That'd be more attractive to your potential readers.
I get what you mean. I feel pretty underwhelmed by it too, but that's just what I can do with my current skill and knowledge. Like, I'm still to the whole making covers stuff. I like the idea you pose as well, but I don't know how to do a glow effect. In fact, me trying to do a glow effect is how I got the trainwreck of a cover my current story has. I just tried to paint the glow, only for me to give up then just make a circle and blend pink into the black background.
