"The main character is logged into their favorite VRMMORPG for the celebration; the BBEG has finally been defeated and the player base is ecstatic. Just as the party is taking off, there is a flash and all the players freak out. Was their VR rig damaged by a bug? Was this something intentional? What happened!?

When the light fades, they discover that all of the game elements are gone; no menus, no inventories, no logout. The entire population of [number] players has been isekai'd into the game world."

I think that overlord is like that
Yup, but Overlord only has one OP player and his guild filled with OP NPCs.

What I requested is a bunch of players, OP, hardcore or casual.

Then maybe you'd like to see "In the Land of Leadele". The protagonist is super op and there are some players in the fantasy world though if you want an entire population of servers, the only one I think makes the deed is log horizon (or maybe SAO)

Looks like this is the wrong category since you want recommendations? It's Gender Bender so it may not be your cup of tea, but She Professed Herself the Pupil of the Wiseman is this.

Main Character is screwing with his Avatar settings and falls asleep. When he wakes up, thirty years have passed in-game and he was isekai'd into it as his newly de-penised avatar.

It is very quickly discovered that pretty much every player was isekai'd, with most waking up sometime over the course of the thirty years. So not all at once, but sprinkled in over time.

The Light Novel is being translated by J-Novel Club, and the Web Novel is being translated by Re:Library

Writing prompts, huh? Beware of Ai-chan's fury.
Counting on her to appear soon. I am not looking for works.

... I feel pissed. Because there had been a derailment and I failed to stop it.

The idea was to have EVERYONE getting yeeted into the other world AT THE SAME TIME.

I mentioned this as a side note for another prompt you made. My version wasn't a videogame though. I guess it might be better to have it be one though?

Well, excuse me. Maybe if you wanted to do a writing prompt, don't include examples in the disclaimer, and make it an actual prompt???

Yeah. Thanks. I will quote you instead.

Ideas get fucked in my head and when I puke it out, it does not spell nicely as the alphabet soup.

... I have no idea which prompt was it and after a five minute check, I still can't locate it.

Was it the multiple bodies prompt?

Yeah.
Ah, to clarify, I wanted a contest of champions that was basically just a great big battle royale.
Considering I described it as a battle royale, it really does make sense to make it a video game, though. :blob_sweat:

I'm just not sure I like that angle. It doesn't feel as clean as a direct drop. There's too much room for, 'Oh, is this still the game, maybe we didn't really get sent to another world?' I feel like some of the contestants wouldn't be able to take it as seriously. Or would waste time trying to find a way back.

There is of course that type of issue. SAO had a couple of people suiciding at first to try and log out.

From my original prompt, the idea is to explore the psyches of players ranging from OP high level folks to those who are at middle or low leveled and just came into the game to see the finale. They have families, friends and now every single one of them are stuck at the otherworld that may or may not be hostile to them.

I also made it difficult for them to gather their thoughts by disabling the game service like team speak, inventory and other essentials because I feel like Log Horizon is an easy mode when they still have those plus revival.

Of course at the late game of Log Horizon, the players found out that the flavor text in items can have actual effects and used weapons with soulkill to permakill a GM (who was logged into his private account and therefore only has the GM call) .

Are you asking people to write it or are you asking for suggestions? So far, it seems like you're asking for a discussion on the topic. If this is not the case, you should clearly inform others that they have gone out of topic. Let's have standards around here.

Apologies on that.

At this point, I might as well have the thread shift to discussion since the writing prompt got derailed.

Sounds like Log Horizon.
Yep this is probably one of the best mass isekai series with a few great uniqueness.
1. The MC is not a fuckhead
2. It actually showed great action, slice of life, mystery and adventure.
3. The suppose to be NPC is turned into a real human with all the emotions.
4. It showed the different aspects of life such as, politics, economy and other things.
Probably one of my most favorite series.

Does it have an MC who's genderbend after the VRMMORPG have integrated to their world?
Cuz I'm very confused if its about looking for or just writing prompt that you use hahaha

This is why you don't delete old words when you edit a post. :blob_sweat:
Yeah I know.

But at this point, I don't really give a hoot or anything.

Whenever I do a writing prompt, I feel like I am tossing a stone into a pond, there are ripples, then it becomes still.

Initially it was supposed to be a writing prompt, then @Linko came along and the topic got derailed to me trying to find a work when I am prompting someone to write what @Psycholor helped to turn into a proper prompt.
Sounds like Log Horizon.
Think of it as Log Horizon, but minus all the game system stuff, the revives, the inventory, game chat and even skill use. Everything is scrapped and the isekaied humans need to find a way to survive a world that they are familiar as a game.

I also stated it to be from VRMMORPG because apparently the NPCs are more alive (if it is KR VRMMORPG cuz Overlord's NPCs are as stale as those in the standard MMORPG before transfer) .

I also state it to be a mass transfer because I want to see how the humans will react when their game becomes their new reality (shit it is SAO) .

Lol the below is what little words I copied while posting this thread.

I know that Log Horizon had already done it and there are tons of works that featured MC going into the game world and cheat the shit out of it thanks to future knowledge and whatnot.
