Drew up a promotional Short Comic for my novel

I don't know if these kinds of promotional approaches are worth it, but tried anyway. I figured to try something new to garner more attention elsewhere with how niche the genre is, and wow the whole exhausting process makes me see how bad I am at comic writing (and also why I am glad I never pursued comic writing :\ ) but anyway here is part 1 of 2

Good test case.

This doesn't really look like my genre, but I'm adding this to my reading list and bookmarking the web comic anyway. Gotta see how this promotional attempt turns out.

If this proves good enough results to make an attempt at following in your footsteps, I'm definitely going to credit you for the idea.

(I think that's the least us medium size authors can do. If every one of us who can afford to copy this attempt, assuming it's successful, give him a shout-out then he'll probably get some pretty good results. It would definitely be good pay-back for giving us the idea.)

For the record, he currently sits at 14 readers and 1.1k total views on his series here on SH after being up for a little shy of 2 months, and as of posting this he has 4 readers on his webcomic after a single day. Let's watch and see if and how that grows.

The art's amazing. I can't imagine myself drawing all those cities/backgrounds, let alone color them the way you did. Takes a lot of work to get a comic like that, and I commend you for that.

unironically looks better than half of the shit I read. here's a pro tip: add a cover image of a thicc half naked anime girl. I guarantee exponential reader growth

If you do decide give it a try, holler so I can follow along as well! And yeah that's the effect I was hoping for because we all know comics attract more attention than novels in general.

I would be stoked if this becomes a trend because there are so many good novels out there that don't get near the exposure they deserve and to be honest as much of an absolute struggle this was to put together, if it brings better results I think it was worth it for sure.

Honestly I didn't draw the cities :sweat_smile: I put filters on pre-existing stock photos of the locale because I can't do backgrounds to save my life :blob_cringe:

You know what?! I'm going to try this too! Probably as a manga in black and white because I can barely color with my shitty skills. But I'm dying to see my sci-fi/fantasy story on visual media and it's not going to draw itself.
