What kind of monster boys do you find uncommon in isekai or fantasy?

Do they have to be boys?

Oddly enough though, I rarely see catfolk

imo plantoids and insectoids are very rare

also I never seen cephalopod-boy, crab-boy, jellyfish-boy and mollusc-boy (e.g. slugs)

Incubus. The trend towards them is slowly amping up, but they still remain lowkey to this day. This is just my opinion though.

Most of the incubus manga I saw made them into just normal male demon and that's it. Such disappointment.

I'd say the top two would have to be cat-eared boys or nine-tailed fox boys.

It's easy to point to stories that have the girls of those races. I'll see them often enough. It's pretty rare that we have the male gender around and a part of the story. That may be due to me leaning towards reading stories with male protagonists though.

Maybe it's because I've seen too many Kitsune/Wolves

Ah. I see.
Now that you mentioned.
Male cat or fox boy are as rare as male calico cat.

It really makes me wonder why.

Insectkin-boy. The last time I see it almost full-human looking is from Re:Monster and after so many other mangas. I didn't find any Insectkin-boi ever since.
