Unless you had readers poll for what the main character should do in certain events I don't think this will work well. There's just too much of a difference between what readers might be that in the end it will likely end up as just the person falling for the protagonist with a little bit of breaking the 4th wall. Though if someone would like to take the idea of having readers poll and shape the story setting up the 4th wall break I think that would be pretty cool. I don't know exactly what ddlc does but I think there's a bit of playing around with the game files and you could probably do something weird like that by editing past chapters or making new chapters and labeling them something like Chapter 12b. Go back and label the original chapters chapter 12a etc.

This idea is super, super common. It's usually titled something like 'Character X Reader'. I haven't seen it much on SH though, which I'm glad for. They're usually... Not my type of story.

Ah, well. Technically the 'Reader' is a character in the story instead of the actual reader though, so maybe it's different.

I haven't seen anything like this in literary fiction. I mostly read on RR, SH, or Light novel free reads, and some JPs. Anyway, I kind of want to try the 4rth wall break like Deadpool

While some are better, like the ones that use "you" for the reader, though constant usage gets a bit wearing. My particular pet peeve are the ones that have (Y/N) as the reader. It just throws my immersion into a story. And if I try to remove the X reader stories by using the tagging system from the search on Wattpad they still show up somehow.
