I have more ways if you'd like to.
Nah. I don't want to know. I suffered enough emotional and mental trauma dealing with rape cases, death threats, and political persecution to know more about torture methods.

Thanks for the offer anyway.

Besides, some of my cases have the weirdest torture shit I've encountered, so I'm good.

In Ai-chan's opinion, a most painful death is the opposite, it's the kind of death where you are barred from life, yet, you are not truly dead. You exists, somewhere in the plains of nothingness, forever walking, forever recalling a perfect memory. Where all your successes and failures, the meetings and partings, your happiness and regrets, and all the things you left behind are always remembered, but always out of your reach.

If this is our death, Ai-chan can understand why ghosts would want to return to their family members and refuse to move on. If Ai-chan dies, Ai-chan would like to be rendered sterile, no thinking or recalling. So that Ai-chan wouldn't hesitate to pass on.

Kind of like a 'limbo' eh? Pretty interesting concept.

Yes, something like that. It is similar in concept to the original Hebrew death, where a dead person goes nowhere but instead stays where they die because there is no afterlife other than a completely empty pit where you disappear completely, but it is a place where a dead person does not automatically go to, only banished to. After all, the original Jewish tradition stated that angels are dicks and they were not made to be nice to humans.

Pretty similar to our Roman Catholic belief of purgatory, eh? Though our angels are nice and helpful to humans.

Well, as they say in our culture, spirits who remain here are suffering. I think it's an interesting concept of a 'painful', 'melancholic' death.

Cancer. It is a slow painful death. It is the systems that has allowed you to live up until this point betraying you, and it will spread fast through out you. There is no cure, if you’re lucky you can remove part of your own body, if not you will have to endure treatment that can cause just as much pain as the disease itself.

It's even worse if it's on your people you love, like your mother. You'd want to do something to alleviate her pain, but you're forced to watch her suffer.
