New here. What's this 'Series' feature?

So when I add a new story, it says 'new series.' A series could have a lot of books. I wonder what's usual when a story ends. If there's a book 2, do we keep posting on that first book's chapters or do we 'complete' it and start yet another series even if they are literally from the same series? I get that there is a 'Misc' area that links books together. What is the accepted norm in this regard? Is there a feature for adding more books to the 'series' that I'm unaware of?

There is no set rule for that. Some authors keep adding new books under the same series, while others mark the series as completed when a book ends and start posting the next book separately, linking them together as sequel/prequel.

The former seems to be more common from my experience, though.

Okay. Thank you. Would be pretty awesome though if they could fall under the same umbrella but I will try the latter.

You can finish a book and mark it as COMPLETED, then start another one under a different title, and link them together as sequel/prequel in the edit section.

Many authors choose just to continue with their current book, adding new chapters as "Book 2", however, maybe because they already have thousands of readers, good reviews, and stuff.
