Plot ideas

Can you guys and gals give me some ideas. I'm going to write a script on scribble hub for my new manga and I'm desperate for ideas.
However, here's what I want to happen:
1. The setting is in Japan (which has been split in half; one side is strictly lawful and on the other side you can do whatever you want without consequence)
2. MC dies and makes a deal with a demon lord to come back to life with powers to 'cleanse' the bad side
3. (NOT OFFICIAL) I'm thinking about killing off the MC's GF in the beginning of the manga only for them to fight after she makes the same deal that the MC did and they end up fighting until he kills her and finds out her identity as she is dying

Here's a philosophical question. Which side is in the right? Yeah, you can do whatever you want without consequences on one side but the other one controls the people completely. Which is the evil side? Well, it would depend on whether or not you consider people to be inherently good or not. If they are good then the side that can do whatever it wants is the good guys. While if humans are evil then neither side is good because the side that is lawful is still run by humans. How do you deal with this?

That's the beauty of the manga since it leaves the readers to decide and actually think about it.

Seems needlessly dramatic. Also, if you and your girlfriend both came back to life once, dying again wouldn't be all that impactful. It's like, oh, let's just respawn and do things better next time. Why are they even fighting, anyway?

Are you aiming for a batman style of 'cleansing', or a punisher thing?

Since you have the MC kill girlie friend, that probably means you want the MC to question their values. "Was I really doing good?" At that point, you could go and slowly break a criminal organization one piece at a time since they screwed the MC over, only to find out near the end that the criminals were genuinely good people trying to help the other good people trapped on the lawless side.

If the lawless side is a Purge type thing, where people go there to blow off steam, you can have the MC meet some of them on both sides of the line, creating weird dramatic situations where villains can gloat or 'normal' people can show remorse or embarrassment over things the MC witnessed.

That's the beauty of the manga since it leaves the readers to decide and actually think about it.

Hmm. That doesn't really change how the MC deals with anything though. What's the MC's goal in all this? Well, the killing part already means it's probably a Punisher type thing. More like Ghost Rider, actually, with the soul taking.

Another reason to drop the gf: he would want to stay dead to be with his gf. Also, If he doesn't comply to the demon lord, the content of his soul will be burned away and he will be tortured in hell until the demon lord releases his army and he is forced to spectate as his empty soul kills people invouluntarily.
