So, I have decided to cut up my chapters and stuff... But I have also decided to add 1 scene to every chapter. Trying to make it into a visual novel of sorts. I just finished my very first scene. It is fully original, no tracing this time from me on this one. It took me a whole day to make, and I am kinda proud of my achievement, so here I am to post it.

Did it turn out cute guys? It's my very first try at doing anything original. I think the tracing actually taught me a thing or two. (Still have much to learn.)

you've pretty much done all of the hard work already. look up a reference for embarrassed smile(cartoon). draw the eyebrows like this / \ with a pair of upside u's for eyes and a closed smile(a single line). that's about it. add some details later for garnish.

children actually have similar proportions to teens
their head is just several times smaller while their limps are just a bit shorter in comparison at least imo

Not to me. I had such a hard time doing these ten-year-olds D; Maybe because it was the first time without training wheels.

yup. looks much better. align the left eye(pull it slightly down) and you could be done. you can try closing up the mouth(dont show feeth) but im not sure if that would be better.

Ah, flashing of teeth. Is it an aggression thing? I was going for a wary smile or cheerful smile as he was happier that he caught her than actually falling. Hmm... maybe I should look that up.

donno really. as I said you could keep it. but the easiest way to show embarrassment is hand on neck or hair. if that is what you're going for.

I would really like to keep the smile, hm... Did the adjustments to the eye and made the smile a little closer to those I see on the web atm. I think it is better now :3

mate I haven't done anything.
also if you're getting into drawing you should probably know how to cheat. artists will tell you it's hard but drawing is fucking easy. just look up geometry and lines(riley method) and similar, much easier, hacks.
