how far are permitted to go? How descriptive are the sec scenes?
should I bother posting on sites like webnovel, honeyfeed or royalroad if I'll just get banned for excessive graphic sex scenes?
what's your experience with from there if if you d any good ones? how graphic do they get with the erotic scenes?

As long as it actually has a plot, and/or doesn't break anything in the ToS(which is usually child porn or encouraging illegal stuff irl), I don't think the website would care.


However, you do have to consider your audience, cause a 5 paragraph description of something like scat or guro(funny enough this might actually work better in a non-smut, lol) isn't good for getting readers.


Though if you make your novel so cursed that people wince just by hearing the name, that would be legendary.

Yes, in my understanding people don't go into depth with when writing smut to keep as lose as possible. Think of it like cropping bits of doujin, sure you still know sex is going on but it's not as graphic.

Instead of asking people on the forum, you should read content guidelines.

Okay, then I will try to help you a bit. In terms of descriptive sex scenes, Webnovel and SH have no restrictions. You can use whatever words you want, but Webnovel might auto censor some words. You can pretty much write a ten thousand word smut chapter, and you will be okay as long as half of your story isn't smut. To be extra sure, you can make it two-thirds non-smut, one-third smut.

Honeyfeed, I don't know. I never posted there.

Lastly, RoyalRoad. You can write descriptive sex scenes, but they should be rare. I write descriptive sex scenes, but I have few of them, and I was shown a green light and post my novel there. I have six, maybe seven 18+ chapters, while my novel is around eighty chapters long. However, my novel isn't popular there. So I can't help you that much. Perhaps mods simply let me be, or rules work as they should. I don't know.

dunno about webnovel but RR is rather strict. fan service is allowed in moderation. as long as smut is not the focus of your story you should be fine. and unless you strike it big - I doubt anyone would notice, but then again you deal with rather unsavory subjects, so there would definitely be some reports.
in conclusion: don't bother.

Royal road has a hard limit that no more than 15% of your chapters should have explicit content. But otherwise doesn't seem to limit the explicit part.

I've definitely seen several stories with explicit stuff do well there. Everybody loves Large Chests and Blue Core comes to mind.

They can be as graphic as you want, so long and you don't post explicit PICTURES of it.
For Webnovel, It doesn't matter, so longs as you don't want to be contracted.
For RoyalRoad, keep sex scenes to less than 20% of the content of your book, though up to 40% may be tolerated under some circumstances (IE whether the admins like your story)

As someone who writes seggs, I have never faced a ban or a warning on any platform. It's been pretty graphic so far in description but tame in content.
Considering a few stories that have made it to the trending multiple times have relationships based around gaslighting I'd say there's not many restrictions when it comes to seggs and its depictions when looked from a moral viewpoint.

Nah, I don't think I was shadowbanned. I think the following things ruined my novels' chance to become popular. 1. It's shit. 2. Mc is weak-willed(beta mc or whatever other word you want to use). This combo works better than any shadowban.

They are arbitrary af, my first work(not smut btw) got a 3.5 rating hour before first chapter was approved, one of the mods gave me headstart
