I've known of the site for a while, and someone else dropped a thread a few hours ago or so about being blocked from it.

Anywho, any thoughts on the site in particular? It looks nice....but anything else someone might know?

it's like scribblehub but less smut and more traditional light novels. they're also HEAVY with fluff. like, obscene amounts of fluff. so much so that a wolf doesn't even need go in with sheep clothing; the fluff would hide him well. no big 18+ scene there, though it exists under the adult section.

presentation is KEY there, by the virtue that the book covers aren't crusty kb images anymore. the reading app is very much alike webcomics, so there's a heavy emphasis on light-sized, digestible reading. illustrations; good ones; will win you audiences by the MILE.

and speaking directly to you @Discount_Blade, it's not your kind of place. the place is filled with kids below 17 whose idea of the world is rainbows and sunshine. there's nothing wrong with it, but cynicism, even small hints of it, is taken as hostility. in short, it's the kind of place where they need tone indicators to get by. i am aware of your iron fisted stance on your world view and I'll save you the trouble; you'll get hella banned quick if you were to speak your mind.

just posting your story there as an extra platform, though? that's all well and good.

I post on there just as another site...
Though I have to say it sees the least amount of activity (none).

That said, my story probably is also not their kind of stuff and clicking a bit through it, it seems like anything outside the "contest-bubble" seems to have lower numbers.

I'll just post for now but I can't see myself getting anywhere with only that site (compared to RR, SH, or even webnovel)...

Eh, I published for the contest and it was fine. Certainly nowhere near as popular as any other established writing sites and honestly lacks a lot of publishing features I enjoy here. I've looked up the ownership and it looks like a Japanese company I assume is trying to get marketshare on the growing popularity of light novels outside of Japan.

A really small community. Just another site to post I guess. More "tame"? or traditional I suppose kinds of webnovels.

I agree. But like Ben said, posting there as a side thing is good as long as I don't socialize. Hadn't intended to anyway though but its nice to have heads up. Thanks @BenJepheneT
Depends. I'm pretty sick of this kind of community, but I'm not exactly invited anyway. I'm sure it's more on par for people like Nahrenne or Alice.
Yeah, Alice is probably the nicest person I know here and I'd be looking for the sky to fall if she snapped on someone unprovoked.
I would try it if they allowed fanfiction, but I've heard they don't.
That's a bit weird. First place I've known that didn't allow fanfiction.

definitely not for me since my stuff are all screwed up.

i'd probably stick to Ao3 and consider only posting my complete stuff on SH if it's safe enough.

They've got BIG fucken ties with publication companies and since us kiddos have no fucken clue about copyrights and the like, they've adopted a scorched earth tactic for good measures.

If they have big ties with publication companies then to me that would seem like a good thing, for people who are heavy into the lightnovel style, lots of dialogue, little to no description. I would think it would help with having lightnovels or whatever published for outside-Japan sources.

Yeah but I figure that it'll either be a short, failing stint, or something that'll take off 7 years down the line

Thats the typical career profile for anyone. For nearly all writers, even those who go for the traditional approach. Only the lucky get that instant success. Or those who are hitting a specific fetish/trend/etc. in a specific way that can't be ignored. Like JK Rowling or Robert Jordan for quick examples, but even these are overwhelming outliers. Stephen King was rejected for years before he even managed modest success and Brandon Sanderson said on an old video of his that he had 10 fully written novels, all written over a 12 year period, all rejected. It was his number 11 that found a buyer.
