Back story for the prompt:
Yesterday, I tried something similar and seemed to have failed. Now I want others to try and see how it may turn out.
The goal of the prompt is too see how you can convey the characters through their speech without excessive "fat" is the writing.
Prompt rules: write a short piece of dialogue (2 lines each character at most, 1 line each preferably) without any non-dialogue text in-between (example: "snakes are cool", A said while scratching their head. The "A said..." is the non-dialogue part, of course.) or any direct references to the speakers' personalities ("you know I'm such a slob" would be a direct reference).
Try not to use verbal ticks (Um, hm, hmph, so, like etc etc) or too expressive means of writing (as examples, dragging out words liiiiike this, or making the characters s-stut-tter).
You must keep in mind the personalities of the speakers you want to convey.
After the short dialogue write their personalities in spoilers.
Crude example:
" Snakes are very dignified creatures, don't you agree?"
"Yes, whatever you say"
first person is immature and self-important, second person is a bit tired due to the conversation but not bad as a person
If you read a prompt of another person, you can reply to them how close your impression was to what they wanted to get across, but put your opinion in a spoiler too, not to affect the judgement of other readers

"Hey, slick, what the hell are y'all making?"

"Nothing. Nothing at all."

"It sure smells like something."

"Just- don't. It's for my soul, you see."

first character is a rational, mundane older fellow. He cares and wants to see #2 doing well but he doesn't fully understand him. Second character is an outcast sort of type. Wants to be special and different from everybody else. It distances him from people.

My first impressions (before reading spoiler):
First speaker is older, maybe a blue-collar worker, very close to second. A cheerful soul.
Second one is more timid and maybe a tad depressed

A refined person who is polite. Probably has a taste for sleek shapes and designs.
A lazy person who doesn't care about much of anything but isn't rude so gives an answer - albeit one lacking in opinion.

Brash and rude person who's nosy.
Shy person with low confidence but is polite.

Prompt:

"Ah! Look at all the cute animals! They're so adorable! Don't they make you just want to hug them all?"

"...You want to touch them? But...they're dirty."

A cheerful and excitable person who loves animals and cute things in general.
A clean freak who doesn't do well with animals.

“Say, doesn't this place have quite a few street animals?”

“I guess? Speaking of, do you think a stray dog can kill a shark?”

1st Person is an aloof or stoic kind of character that is trying to make conversation.
2nd Person is a happy-go-lucky guy that is pretty excitable and lives in their fantasies.

First impression:
speaker 1 is assertive, young and inexperienced, speaker 2 is young, timid and thoughtful

"Come here, you! Touch that filet mignon and tell me what's wrong with it. Touch it!"

"It's a little under, chef..."

"A little under? For fuck's sake, I wouldn't give my wife meat this raw, you fat, stupid sack of donkey shit! Fuck off, will ya!"

"Yes, chef. Thank you, chef."

My inspirations might be obvious. Speaker one's a no-nonsense, temperamental head chef with a penchant for creative insults. Speaker two's his meek cook who can only bow his head in the face of such a verbal beat-down.

speaker 1: a Gordon Ramsey-esque character. A bit more raw, and very self-confident.
Speaker 2: Average person

“So you're under my command?”

“Yes, my Lady.”

“Mhm. But let me ask you something. Would you pull out a man’s finger-nails on my say?”

"Of course, my Lady. Torture and interrogation is my specialty. However, fingernails are a waste of time. If you want a man to talk, pull his teeth, hahaha!”

"Yes! quite right, hahaha!”

"And that, my good friend, is how I managed to grapple them into submission."

"How is that even physically possible!?"

"Now that ya mention it, I'm not entirely sure."

"And this is why I never make bets involving you."

"Yo...Isn't this a farming tool?"

"It is."

"Why would you have this in your armory? It's so unwieldy!"

"STOP waving it around!!"

the character found a scythe, a traditional edgelord weapon, in armory
