@Bochi
Might want to update the list regarding the named characters present, as well as their nominal owners xD
That aside, you people with noble/important characters still want to mingle, or shall I call over them over to plan the raid?
@fyrre @ohko @Reborn_Cat @Ddraig
Whatever you all want! o7
Hm I guess that works too? I was thinking of the knights being more along the lines of Royal Corps / Elite Soldiers and she is supposed to be a new knight right out of academy or something.
I may or may not have been looking at Reinhard when making her backstory
Now I guess she needs to prove herself by taking on quests so she can get herself recruited into a decent noble house? That does of course raise why there aint direct placements from the academy but >.>
I am going to need a bit of clarification on how are we making the noble structure before we decide which way we should do this,
- Do Nobles have personal armies or just personal guards? <-- If no personal army, is it just a standing Royal army?
- I saw @fyrre mention something about a knight academy for his knight guard. I think we should coordinate on making it a proper place.
- Is knight/dame considered a noble position? I personally think of it as sort of the middle awkward place where you are not nobility but are sort of above the commonfolk
- If it is a noble position, that implies it is possible to become pseudo-noble by getting into the academy. Are the established houses a-okay with this?
- I remember that the islands were sort of following feudalism with all land belong to the queen which she lends out to dukes and so on. I dont see knights getting land tbh even if they were like honorary nobles - it is just a bunch of islands afterall, not exactly a continent with free land everywhere
For my headcanon, I definitely lean towards noble's with personal armies. Sky Archipelago is heavily decentralized and it's unclear if there's any (if at all) national structure / laws. Many of the islands can be effectively treated as city-states that are loosely associated with each other.
I'm also for knight/dame potentially meaning multiple different things! For some, it refers to a rank in nobility (or pseudo-nobility), and in other situations it might refer to a military role. It could also be a temporary title that children of nobility take when they're not the current duke/marquis/count/baron/etc or alternatively not the heir.
The houses/factions have wildly different opinions on various subjects.
@fyrre's Astalart Faction is relatively traditional and somewhat exclusive/prejudiced (although apparently I misjudged how open they would be to adopted children XD), so they could be more opposed to commoners loosely/easily joining the nobility. My personal headcanon for the Warhawk faction is that they're quite meritocratic, and they're very open to anyone who is strong regardless of their bloodline or where they come from.
For this, didn't ohko mention Sir Gawrgaru also attending the knight academy?
Or did I misremember?
X
Raul, Gawrgaru, and a bunch of other characters attended a Royal Academy at Sky Harbor.
And an elven arts one in aerelieth
Whose story was this mentioned in? For some reason, I forgot it.
Hm I guess I will do that then ~ It cant be Shark house as I have not been travelling with Gawr or Gwen.
So we go back to the problem of not having enough notable npc in nobles which aint from the shark house

Make more houses! Both
@fyrre and
@The_Everdistant_Utopia have made factions
Aye! what kind of rank would the lord of a city/island have? I am gonna introduce a liege for Roxia and I am thinking what would be a god rank for the liege's house.
Raul by
@GodlyKamui is a count and his family rules over an island
Aye!
I am thinking that Sven and Gawr will have a chill, friendly relation. No idea who is controlling Gawr though.
