Well, I really don't know, cause I have never been to America. However, from what I have seen on tv (of course, I doubt most tv info), read online, and heard from other people, there are quite a few obese Americans. I have heard that their food portions are huge, not to mention using sugary condiments like ketchup/bbq sauce, etc. I am more inclined to believe that the average weight in America is overweight. Obviously not all, but maybe the majority are plump.
PS: Don't take me wrong, I have absolutely nothing against overweight people. It is just another body type. Although I do agree that from a medical point of view it isn't very healthy. The same applies to underweight people too.

Well media always shows the interesting bits. Not to mention it is well accepted into their culture to eat fat rich food every day. Especially due to the protests against Vegans, many refrain from eating anything plant like.
