...At least, they are according to my mom.

Now, how do I convince people on SH to read them?

For a long while my focus has been on getting more readers on other platforms, notably RR, but I realize that there are plenty of potential readers here too. What can I do to reach out to them and get them to read my slightly-better-than-sliced-bread stories?

Are there any tricks and tips for advertising on SH that I'm missing out on?

Oh yeah for sure.

(1) Turn your story into toast.

(2) Posting a chapter once a day at the same time each day is, in my experience, the fastest way to growth. —1— It’ll hit trending consistently as long as you build up some reader base and the story isn’t shit and — 2 — Builds up a base.

(3) Or you can just try pandering. That works. Write a smut isekai story with Yuri too and, bam, you’ll be rolling in readers before you can toast your bread.

(4) Add your signature to your messages advertising your story. Everyone does it. Why shouldn’t you? It’s somewhere in the settings.

(5) Beg people everywhere and anywhere.

Also aren’t you doing pretty well already smh

Hey, leave some for us small-time newbies :blob_pout:
hahahaha

It works the same everywhere you post a work.
If you're hungry for a fanbase, the first thing you need to do is to discover the niche that is popular right now, then abuse the hell out of it.
Once you've collected enough pokemons (fans), you can start writing something you actually want to. Remember to capitalize the hell out of it by posting 'chapter was posted!!!' comments on your own profile so everyone that followed you can see it.

I'd say just keep writing. This site has a thing where recently updated or created stories are shown. So, if you write enough, more and more people will see your story on there and might give it a shot. If it's good, they'll stick around and might attract more readers. From there, hope to land on trending one day to get a massive boost.

Having a link to your story on your signature could also help if you use this forum often. Just click on your name and go to signature.

Sorry to burst your bubble newbs, but this Mr. RavensDagger here is the author of "Cinnamon Bun", which has 2.4 million views on RR, and is said to be one of the top 10 stories of all time. He is messing with ya lot.
If it makes anyone feel better, his story Stray Cat Strut was trending on RR at the exact time my The Runesmith story was. But it has 2k more followers on RR and also 2k more readers here on SH than him. :D

My stories are the best since baked potatoes... at least according to my family. How do I gain readers and buxx as a slice of life and wattpad-style romance author? Please enlighten me. I don't want to write isekai, cultivation, or litrpg. My brain is that of a potato. I am not good with mathematic and magic. I don't want to write smut too. I am just a potato. I don't know how humans reproduce.

Daily chapters. ~1-1.5k in length. Most sought after tags/genres are the adult-oriented ones, and you should be able to figure that out yourself pretty quickly. The mainstream, popular genres like isekai, litrpg, and GL also see high reader traffic.

It also goes without saying, SH is more weeb-oriented than most other platforms. An anime-like cover is going to do you better than ones you might see on RR or Amazon. Especially if that cover is 3/4ths of some busty waifu babe, even AI-generated images from waifulabs are good enough, too.

Weird flex, but OK.

Dunno m8, but I would recommend you to find something you like that you can't find. I liked fantasy kingdom building novels, but there was nothing I liked except (the first half of) the Release That Witch. So I wrote my own, and its working for me.

I dunno mate. My stories mainly survive off of the fact that my writing skills dwarf that of God Himself. So I'm not aware of if there's any tricks.
Well, i guess if you got a sexy anime girl cover you would get clicks.

Thats just how he is, ignore that part of his posts.
It's already too late! I cannot back down anymore, I'm sorry! The car has already driven off the cliff! I have already started reading one of his stories, and it shall receive my fair judgement, even if a meteor impacts my home, even if my internet providers start an armed rebellion!

Well, his stories are quite good, so I wouldn't call that a loss.
