Years ago I never really imagined what I'd be getting into now - that I would be writing a fantasy novel about mermaids and mermen. As time progressed though, I started to get really into the process of writing it.

Then I started getting into the researching for the book - looking at ocean stuff, and then just looking at a bunch of pieces of merfolk media to see how they'd been depicted into the past.

And then I discovered something - tail swimming.

Basically, people that wear costume merpeople tails and swim in them.

And I wanted one.

Well...

So yeah. I finally did it. I'm becoming a merman.

Congrats~! I've always wanted to try one of those tails, but I need to learn how to swim normally first.

Where do your feet go in it?

There's a monofin at the bottom that you slide your feet in to swim, and the rest of the tail is pulled up over your legs.

You slip on the fabric part - it's a stretch fabric - then you pull the monofin on. There's a slit in the bottom of the tail that you can't see really.
