In the last couple of days, I've released my first Story on Scribble Hub.

But!

I've also read a couple of chapters of different books, then I noticed the Chapter/Week "ratio"( that is what I call it).

What is the most common one 2 Chapters/Week? Maybe 3/Week?
I know it depends on one's schedule and time, but excluding that.

Feel it depends more on the length of the chapter. I do releases every other day on one story where the chappy is about 2k words long and every 3 days when it's 3k long.

There seem to be 2 trends among popular novels:
a) Short chapters every day/every 2 days
b) Long chapters 1/week

option b) is a luxury of those that no longer feel the need to populate new releases tab/are close enough to the top that people just find their novels, or those that have marathon approach to releases.

Personally, I went for over 1 chapter/day at the beginning, and now that I have somewhat established audience, I'm hoping to slow down to 2 chapters /week or something

Also when starting out you'll probably want to release as frequently as you can. I actually released daily for like the first month doing short chapters of like 1 - 1,5k. After building up a reader base I started to slow down a bit, it worked quite well for me x3

Yes, I was thinking the same. But I feel as if I don't want to rush through the story that fast without actually having a reader base. On the other hand, the story has to progress to attract viewers.

When I started out with my first Story here, the releases still are a bit messy but I think 4/week should be plenty. Might even be too much :D
2 Chapters every week is more common here from what I have gathered.
I agree, I've even seen some at the unusual 3/week.

I did daily for a while then slowed to 3x a week. However, I might go back to 5x. ?‍? It depends on the story arc I'm on. Sometimes it's slice of life (slower paced) so I like to release more chapters. Other times, a 3x a week release schedule is fine.

For example, I had two chapters that were a bit infodumpy - I released the next chapter that had action in it faster to not lose readers.

The Saturation of works on the site, as well as works which end after 5 chapters, to never be continued, force us all to spam chapters to get readers to notice us. Even Senpai would notice us before the readers.

I say don't worry about what everyone else is doing. Do what works for you.
Oh certainly, I was just curious what everyone else was doing, just so I can find the best for me. Maybe even get some tips.

Yes, that seems to be the trend, to start something then end it after Chapter X. It is a shame, not only for us. But also for the extra work, we must put in to get noticed. Not by senpai, but by readers.

I do 2 chapters a week. I liked it because you get a surge of views when your daily views were about to drop to zero.

Actually, I'd die if I had to make 3 chapters a week.

7 Chapter for a month to build reader base. Then change it based on your time like 2 chapter/day or 1 Chapter/week, depends on your mood and your procrastination level.

And if you're poor, here's a meme for you.

I used to upload one chapter daily (at 1.5k~2k-ish) for up to what, forty-ish chapters..? But I don't know how I did that then lol I don't think I can do that now xD I'm currently at 2 chapters/week (tho I'm late sometimes o_o)

I think you should find out what you can do and upload as frequently as your schedule allows! ^^

I'll probably do that, but I also need to grow a Fanbase. At the same time, I don't want to progress through the story too quickly.

Hmm, those are some real stuff to think about. I don't know about the growing a fanbase part, but as for story progress, I lowkey don't think release speed should have much to do with that, because there will always be (theoretically?) more people who read it all at once (in the future)/at their own speed regardless of how much and when you update. Perhaps that's something that you should be regulating with the way you tell the story (i.e. how you space out the events, your story flow) rather than relying on your schedule?

That being said, I guess if you're planning your story to be short, release periods are more relevant to reach a wider audience. So yeah, you do you! :blob_okay: Good luck regardless ^^

In my case, I release 4 Chapter/Week, even if for now. The length varies from 2k -> 3,2k Words.

But what you said will keep me thinking for a bit. So thanks!

Thank everyone who commented here as well!
