You know how whenever someone complaints that they are receiving 1 star without any suggestions to improve, one of the common answer is "Well, you didn't complained when you received 5 stars."
So, yeah, that got me thinking. Why not ask that question.

For some reason people have been giving me 5 stars, even though just my first chapter is out? Any reason why?

(PS: Don't take this as a publicity stunt. I just wanted to do something fun here.)
Edit:Eh, I was really looking for some comedy here, but eh. Who doesn't like praise.

I guess just cause they liked the story. The reason people don't talk about recieving 5 star reviews with no feedback is because a 5 star review suggests that you shouldn't change anything. Of course, this isn't very constructive, as no stories are perfect, but if you recieve a bunch of 5 star reviews with no context I would just take that as you're heading in the right direction.

To add to this, it could also mean that the readers liked the concept (and potential) of the story.

Or there are those who wanted to encourage the author to keep writing.

If you get a bunch 5 stars for (apparently) no reason, a few readers of yours probably want to encourage you to keep going, which I think is fine, but a better way is to actually interact in the comments(I think anyway).

Writing or anything else really, you don't know about how long these content creators are gonna keep doing this, so if you appreciate them you better show it, it might or might not change anything, but at the very least they'll feel better making content to someone who likes it.

Same question tbh, someone gave me a five-star and I was like "the fuck?"
Context: I saw the 5-star when I released my prologue, which introduces the author
I know a Scribblehub reader that said there is a a lot of bots doing weird stuff, I don't know how true is that but maybe.

The prologue if ya interested, it's like 10 lines or sumthin

I feel like there's something [bots?] that just helps you give 5* just to boost you up before the readers even get to your stories. Maybe to help counter the 1*s some trolls people have mentioned that likes to give out mass 1* without genuine reasoning. And then you slowly have the readers trickle into read your stories and some just like the story but don't want to put too much work so they rate it 5* and also because to help boost and encourage the writer to continue writing their story. :)

5☆? Every 1☆ fuels my rage so that I can hurt my readers, the ones who 5☆'d me and gave me positive comments along the way. The loyal ones who support me and encourage me, even the ones who donated! But those who just dropped 1☆, then walked away, not even saying why... Not having the courage to leave me in their reading log so I could send them a hateful message telling them that every day I would pray that their pinky toe became some table corner's bitch. They'll never know what a badge of honor it was that they gave me. How their own insecurities manifested when they read my works proved what kind of a weak person they were. I've got my judgment straight from god almighty.

5☆?

Hey, reader, since you left one of those for me, can you leave a good review too?

I don't know you, I don't know your novel, but now I feel tempted to find it and give it a one-star just to see what happens.
Oh no... Please don't give me a one star, such that I might have to drop my novel off...

*Sneaks in Link of my novel *

Please do not make me want to stop writing and let me continue playing games and basically sleep all day. I really love writing and don't want it to be dropped. Please...

Your passion for writing moved me! I will resist this foul temptation and won't make you stop writing to laze around all day, sleeping and playing games!

Go! Go now, mighty author, and may you never run out of ideas to put on paper and your readers bless you with many five stars, so that you never have to stop writing!

Such compassion. It inspired me to give a 5 stars to encourage this precious author, even though I have barely read the synopsis.
