So, recently I've gotten back into a game called From The Depths (FTD) its about building ships and other vehicles (tanks, planes, spaceships, ect) but mainly ships, but its not just just building the ships its building the engine, cannons, hull, even the ai and detection equipment that tells the ship how to move and where to aim at. And don't even get me started with the steam engines, PIDs and lua box. Its also got drag, water resistance & air resistance. Honestly i just cant sum up how bloody complex this game is in just this post, its far easier to just watch some videos on the game. ( I recommend watching Borderwise's videos)

as an added note you can use breadboards to make your ship play a custom sound when it does something such as firing its weapons or falling below a health percent. (yes, you can make your own ship girls)

This has been my little rant on From The Depths, I'd like to hear about other complex games so feel free to share what complex game you like. :)

Nice, I would like to play the From The Depths sometime(potato pc).

As a massive fan of sandbox games, I shall give you my blessings...
1. Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead
2. Star made
3. Minecraft
4. Odd realm
5. Rimworld (go get the mods, it becomes crazy)
6. Besiege

Unfortunately, due to some real life issues(dead pc), I only played low RAM-eating games

Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead: insanely difficult and complex. it took me days to figure out how to pick something up.

From what I played, most definitely To End All Wars, an Ageod title if you are familiar with the company, and Panzer Corps, the Slitherine edition. Both games can be pretty punishing for the inexperienced player.

Try Dwarf Fortress. Right now graphic(steam) version is in development so you should check out classic version.

True rogue-like games has some of the most steep learning curve. If not for the difficulty of learning and the lack of modern graphics, I bet rogue-like would be popular(some that removed the disadvantages became popular, examples are the binding of isaac and soul knight)

Really enjoyed the "freedom" of this genre. Recommended if one wants to play for a long time.

I remember playing c:dda for the first time. Had to be frustrated since there are many buttons and actions to play around and I even need to watch youtube videos just to make my character move. After learning the "basics" of movement was when I truly enjoyed the game.

I was burning zombies, pommeling zombies, capturing a zombie necromancer so I could keep reviving and killing zombies, building self-sufficient deathmobile to ram zombies and even got to kill a zombified hulk with a makeshift glaive.

Well, if your attention span is long then the "rogue-like" genre is for you (which I bet you do since you spent time building in FTD)

Definitely not sponsored

The most complex game I've ever played has been life. Even at this age, I'm not married. It is quite complex, if I do say so.

From what I played, most definitely To End All Wars, an Ageod title if you are familiar with the company, and Panzer Corps, the Slitherine edition. Both games can be pretty punishing for the inexperienced player.
Instead of Panzer Corp, you'd be better off playing Order of Battle. It's basically the same game made by two different studios and published by Slitherine. The difference is, Order of Battle has more depth, has better UI and more fun playing experience. Basically, Panzer Corps is the dumbed down version of Order of Battle.

The problem with Order of Battle however, is that it has a lot of DLCs. Sure you can just play the base game since the DLCs only add campaigns instead of new features, but some people want to play everything. Even if the DLCs only add new campaigns, it just rubs people the wrong way. If you're pirating though, and money isn't an issue, get Order of Battle 10 out of 10 times. OoB is miles away a better game.

That being said, there is a Panzer Corps 2, which Ai-chan hasn't played yet because Ai-chan doesn't want to feel disappointment like with Panzer Corps.

As for To End All Wars... it lacks the most important factor, which is fun. It lacks fun. The UI is horribly unintuitive and the AI makes you hurl harsh language at yourself for paying for it. Just buy Hearts of Iron 4, and all its DLCs but stop at the DLC that came after Man The Guns. Don't pay for anything after the DLC after Man The Guns. Ai-chan hates the espionage system.

However, Ai-chan would instead recommend Decisive Campaigns: Barbarossa. That game is great. You take control of the Nazi army during the Barbarossa Operation and have to deal with every issue that came up during the operation. Don't want to waste time petitioning for winter clothes for your soldiers? Watch as they freeze to death. Rundstedt was probably the least helpful of all. Always want to push and push and not caring about anything else but "Where's my supplies?" And Goering... that bastard...

Ai-chan talking rubbish. Ai-chan should check her AI routines. They might be faulty.

Ai-chan not knowing panzer Corps not based on Order of Battle. Ai-chan not knowing that Panzer Corps a reiteration of the original Panzer General from 1994. Maybe Ai-chan too young? Who knows.

Ai-chan also funny for suggesting HOI IV as alternative to a stupid AI. Paradox should too take a little UI improvement course. Otherwise, Ai-chan less wrong here. UI was never the strong point of Ageod games, so Ai-chan correct.

And last but not least, Ai-chan repeating strange historical narratives about the Russian winter and logistics. Ai.-chan also using the term Nazi army.

Ai-chan probably American. They love logistics.

Not saying Panzer Corps was based on Order of Battle. They were likely both ordered by Slitherin who gave an open tender to studios to make games that Slitherin wants. One studio (Artistocrats) simply made a better game than the other. Ai-chan played Panzer General and even Panzer General 3D. Ai-chan also played the original Fantasy General, 5 years after it came out. Ai-chan also played Daisenryaku, the inspiration for Panzer General. Guess how old Ai-chan is now.

Yes, Ai-chan used the term Nazi army as a joke. Because the generals acted like Nazi assholes through and through.

Ai-chan is definitely not American, never set foot in America and never considered visiting America after Ai-chan's cousin was strip-searched at the airport.

Playing Rimworld with Randy Random as a storyteller is fucking wild man! Fucker will send mechanoid raids all at while your most capable fighter is having a mental breakdown just because he didn't eat at a table.

Anyways here is my roster

S.T.A.L.K.E.R series- I put this game because you are dropped down with basic controls and you are left behind to learn the harsh environment of the zone. Every action you do is consequential to your survival. Keeping track of your health, thirst, hunger, and ammo. Anomalies are quite hard to find and the ai is just plain brutal.

Eve Online- The game is a second life at best. Even though I stopped playing it many many years ago. I still found it to be complex in its own right.

Like literally you need time just to advance. Materials are valued there and can be sold for ISK.

Even its economy is comparable to real life. Having connections with other players would be one of the ways to progress further in this game. Even then the community is cancer. But you can't deny how large battles can get on that game. But what do I know? This is just my experience maybe EVE online is different from what others can perceive.

Nethack- Same for CDDA but quite easier and fantasy
