The title says it all.... just got an invitation to a friend's birthday... most probably, I won't go to the party, because of a pandemic going on.... so I'll just be sending a gift. Really don't know what would be a good idea. Google can be very untrustworthy....

Friend likes cats, is very active, and has a lot of ways to express emotions. I can't give any more details because of privacy.

You know it would really help if you gave us more information. Like for example Gender or more hobbies like Vidya

... privacy.... but Friend likes to make origami... eat a lot.... write poems.... hmmmm.... make art... garden...

Buy bunch of origami paper for them to make origami. Stick a bday card with a cat on it. Cat stickers.
Write it in a nice small gift - and since most of that is flat, you can mail or ship it probably much easier.

It doesn't matter if the gift is large, because then I can just order it on Amazon and have it shipped to Friend's house...

In any case. Buy a few packs of origami paper sheets. Include bunch of cat stickers. And a birthday card to boot. Either way, its a small gift, but one that shows you put some thought into what they like.

Idk what else since there is not much description.

I'll probably just adjust that a bit, and then add in some gift cards, or something... and then add in some of the other gift ideas that some other people have come up with... the reason for the large gift is because I couldn't celebrate Friend's bday last year because of the novel covid.

Ah you mean a large gift then? Send a cat plushie. That shall do the trick.

I say put to add on to that list of cat things...
Give her a notebook since you mentioned they like writing poems.
A nice A5 notebook. Bonus for cats on its covers.

Put it in a cat envelope, with whiskers :D

tbh sometimes we do that for fam too. we don't know what to give, so we sometimes just put it red envelops and give it to them for their bday.
