Most people use their smartphone to read. I would guess a tablet or laptop only when at home. Least thats how it is with me

depends on the platform. for wattpad i read it on mobile more. for scribblehub, while i haven't read much yet, i would rather read it on desktop instead.

I obviously messed up this poll, because I was hoping people would tell me how they preferred text to be formatted according to their device.

Always Desktop. I have a smartphone, but it's so weird to read on it for Scribble hub since it's a browser, not an app.

How do you prefer formatting then? Do you prefer it to look more similar to traditional print writing?

I read on ipad, its big enough to use in desktop view and mostly is in desktop view on most sites when rotated on its wider side than mobile view.

I prefer the traditional way.

It probably because I owned a lot of books at home, from Harry Potter, Percy Jackon, and Artemis Fowl etc since I was a child.

I also like to read news articles that also followed the traditional condensed formatting, which seems more formal and orderly.

Spacing out feels weird at times but I try to adapt to it when going online. So that sense of discomfort disappears after a few years of reading online.

In conclusion, traditional a way to go. But you gotta go and adapt with the majority in the end.

I read on my iPad, iPhone or desktop depending on where I’m at when I’m reading.
